  • If anyone is kind enough to give me a spare voucher code for Amazon I would be very happy. I am looking to buy two books for my fiancee and the £5 would make them half price!

    Thanks

I'm looking to order a birthday present from here, so if anyone still has a spare code I would be very grateful. Many thanks.

Just curious folks. How do you motivate that this is a legitimate thing to do? Especially those of you using the £50 voucher. Do you realize that each use of that voucher means £50 less for CD-Wow (if it was a shop IRL, you wouldn't hesitate calling the same behaviour for pure stealing). I don't know what you think, but I really like CD-Wow and this is really hurting them. Or, I do know that some of you think it's really cool getting 39 boxsets without paying for them - if you owned the shop trying to earn money for selling them, it wouldn't be that cool I guess?

And, seriously, don't tell me that you don't see anywhere in the T&C this isn't illegal yada yada - it's as obivous as Santa's beard it is. I'm really surprised the moderators haven't closed this thread yet - this is more of stealing than it is money saving...

Interesting post Seriously, on two counts:

    1) A very thought-provoking comment for a newbie's first effort (assuming you are new and not either a regular with a new ID, or a Director of CD-Wow :) )

    2) It took until P7 of the thread for someone to make that comment in such detail.

I hadn't read the thread in detail before now, but in this one thread anyone can see some of the best and very worst about the people visiting MSE currently.

Final thought - if the company ever do work this one out and track it back I suppose they could always quite legitimately back charge all of you for the full amounts owing through your credit cards. Do sleep peacefully won't you, those who have been racking up deals on the £50 vouchers... :):)

I think that it's highly likely that Seriously wasn't really being that serious, and that they have a very close bond with another poster* from the thread.

This is pure speculation on my part of course, so I'll leave you to make up your own mind.

I must admit I'm confused about how much (or how little) cdwow know about this. I've used the £5 vouchers on numerous occasions without any problems, then out of the blue they cancel some (but not all) of my orders!

  • I had one cancelled the other day and thought I had been sussed.

So I thought 'what the hell' and asked them why it was cancelled.

The reply was that it was out of stock and every other order after showed as sent and subsequently arrived.
Fog on The Tyne isn't mine all mine... but if I wanted it, I'd want it with a discount code.

    AND

if you check the email address which you used to order the out of stock item, you may just might find that they've sent you out a code to replace the one which was "expired" when you used it to order the out of stock item.

the replacement codes are autoresponse generated [i think] when an item you used a voucher to part pay for is cancelled due to being out of stock.

You should have got an email from them automatically when they cancelled your order though, explaining why, but you said you had to email them yourself, so if youre not getting their emails properly, maybe you wont get the one with the replacement voucher code [a voucher code which I dont believe has an expiry on it btw, but I'm not 100% sure on that one yet]
