  • LemmysWart don't you think you're being a little Hollywood dramatic here! The media blows everything all out of proportion anyway, and if you look at earths history the climate has gone through these changes before. It all just goes in cycles. Very little we can do about it anyway - what difference is a little recycling here and there gonna make! Just a drop in the ocean!

Personally, for me, it's not all about recycling. It's about seeing things that I no longer need going to someone that can use them.

I hate to see things gathering dust in the back of a cupboard, (or going to the tip before they are worn out), when someone else could make use of them.

Likewise, it is nice to make use of something someone else has finished with (and save some money in the process).

Nicely put UniqueEarthling! Having used the site myself it actually is quite nice to find a grateful recipient for something you would otherwise have thrown away. And if you happen to reduce landfill waste in the process then what exactly is wrong with that.

I agree - I really like the "Amelie" factor of it all (see the film and you will know what I mean). And we have over 1,000 users now, and the press are finally taking notice (Computer Active magazine this month).

I saw it in Computer Active! They made a mistake though didn't they - underneath the screenshot it read 'you can buy and sell childrens clothes...'
which is completely incorrect. I like the way the site even tries to make sure people don't over-price postage either - I notice they ask you to report any postage you consider to be unreasonable.
  • Hi Anne

Yes, computer active have apologised for this and are printing an official apology in their next issue

ah thats good! Its a shame they didn't give it more of a write up isn't it - I don't think they did it justice really.

There are some pretty amazing baby and toddler items for free at the moment - I wonder why these people are not selling them on ebay as they look to be in great nick - but obviously it restores my faith in human nature that they aren't !!
