I really wouldn't worry. I've just watched the video (without sound, whilst watching Lee Evans and waiting for Hamster) and the chef's are really soft too. Just watch as she puts the top one on the pile - it really sags! I reckon hers will firm up overnight too!
It was Countrylife - you'll never put a better bit o' butter on your knife!
And it didn't weld itself to her hands now, did it? :mad:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
She did deal with her balls very quickly though, didn't she - obviously experienced in working with balls. And I think I heard her mutter something about cold hands. And her top ball definitely sagged!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

mrbadexample wrote:Well, the [STRIKE]bird[/STRIKE] lady in the video didn't seem to have too much trouble! So, if I tried it again, you think I should reduce the quantity of cream to, say, 150ml?
I'm going for AB's recipe for the rum truffles, (post 2 I think), which has very little cream by comparison.
Maybe I didn't whip it for long enough, although it had well over 5 minutes and was the consistency described.
If you make the white truffles again, I'd either double the choc or halve the cream.TL0 -
I've just googled, and found that Countrylife is sweet cream butter, not lactic butter. So the real food snobs will say that your truffles are slightly inferior. If you do it again, use Lurpak or President.
I still think your balls will be firmer in the morning, though, so don't worry.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
mrbadexample wrote:And does that really say 3 tablespoons of cardomom pods? Mine has the seeds from 4 pods, which is plenty! I wouldn't fancy that much! _pale_
Plus, dark chocolate would need a little more cardamom flavouring than white chocolate.TL0 -

It was the only unsalted butter Morrisons had.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

So why do the bu66ers at the Indian restaurant keep leaving them in my pilau rice? I swear they do it for a joke - it's horrible when you miss one and bite into it! :rotfl:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Ah well, Morrisons......:rolleyes2Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Anyway, enough for me tonight...more tomorrow. Tune in Toxic...I'm bound to need your help with the TD.
