  • Partner and I both got screened out of the same survey last week, after answering five minutes of political questions, ie we'd gone far beyond the demographic questions stage. Very annoying.
  • I never used to get screened out of Populus at all but happening all the time now.

I thought it was just me. I'm now only relaxing once I make it past 50%.
  • Me too, I wish they would make sure the qualifying criteria are in the first 15 or 20%.

I know there's the prize draw entry but it's worth nowt if you're not the winner  :disappointed:
Saving a house deposit. Member no.7 100% of target :D

  • I make loads with Populous. I enjoy the political surveys so I write quite a bit in the open ended questions inc the comments section at the end. I guess maybe that's why they send me so many surveys since I'm not an odd demographic. It's not unusual for me to get five surveys in a week, normally for £2 or £3 each.

I feel like Populus really went downhill around the time of the "Yonder" merger. I've gone from 5+ studies a month to three in as many months (and two of those I was screened out of at ~40% complete). It's quite frustrating when you're stuck at 48 and only need 2 "points" to trigger the payment!

I think I'm going to give Populus the heave-ho when I finally get my next £50 - too much wasted time on studies, being screened out so far into the thing. At least other sites pay you for your time and pre-screen you correctly.
  • Still averaging a consistent £250/year here, and I haven't noticed any fewer surveys. Screen-outs are infrequent and I don't think I've had one more than a few questions in.

When I get the prize draw entry message I don't even think of winning anything.  I don't remember anyone on here saying they had won and have never bothered to see what they might publish about winners.

I do get screened out, maybe a third to half of the times but normally early on - and really questions where I'm not going to be giving different answers since the last time they asked.  It is that which annoys, though fairly mildly.

The monthly newsletters have the draw details but they tell you if you are a winner so you don't have to check.

"As you already know, if you were screened out of a survey because you did not meet all
the criteria or you attempted to complete a survey after the quota has been met, you are
automatically entered into a prize draw for a £250 cheque! Earlier this month our December
prize draw took place and we are happy to announce that the winner is Sylvia T
    Congratulations Sylvia!

I wanted to come back here and say "thanks" for this post. Having had a veritable drought on Populus as well as some fairly ferocious mid-study rejections, when I did get around to finishing one I made sure I was as explanatory as possible and really qualified my answers in all the free-text fields that came up. Perhaps it's just coincidence, and I accept that, but since I've started taking more time and effort to explain myself and give longer, more detailed answers to open-ended questions, the drought has turned into an avalanche!
