Can someone briefly explain how the managed to do this please? Use DTD vouchers to buy giftcards? How did they manage so many in a day?

if you look back on the dtd thread 8, there was an incident where someone was kind of "caught" and admitted in so many words to using lots of vouchers to buy large items or gift cards for large amounts in one transaction, it is believed these were reused vouchers (you didn't hear this from me)
store tackled them and poilce were called and were given a warning -thats all we know

Don't forget the 'editing' trick some folk used as well. Any voucher for £10.00 or over could easily be made into £20.00 (or more in the early DTD days) with a simple combination of keys being pressed on the keyboard. In addition, you could change the numbers at the bottom of the voucher so they matched up with any old receipt. I suspect that also contributed to that attic being fully stocked.

(None of the above done by me btw but I was very surprised at how easily it could be done if you were that way inclined.)

Wow, I'm still nervous using my rtd vouchers from the meal deal glitch! I was never brave enough to do multiple shops, or use multiple vouchers, or buy a giftcard. Will have to read the dtd thread 8 to get the full story :)

I know the Tesco Double The Difference is finished now but I feel I should warn people if they have a voucher left to spend to beware!! I posted earlier on the now defunct Tesco Price Checker 8 thread that my store had been scammed to the tune of £400 by someone with DTD vouchers. I subsequently received a private message from someone on here who posted a picture of a loft full of goods bought through the promotion back in May. They as good as admitted that they scammed 4 stores in my area to the tune of £400.00 plus per store over the weekend. So dont think it will be long before Tesco pull it altogether or at least make it very difficult to use.
So if you have vouchers still to use beware that Tesco are on high alert at the mo. Shame greedy people have to ruin it for everyone else.

Seems to have been the South Coast - believe it was Chichester and surrounding areas (you didn't hear that from me either!).

the DTD vouchers werte generated up until 28th april. each had a month expiry date on them. but you could extend that by 1 month. so any DTD vouchers will be expired by 28 june.

old £20 voucher + new receipt + photoshop = new £20 voucher. Not something I'd dare do though.

I'm struggling to see why this thread is here, there isn't a grabbit, tesco haven't stopped genuine shoppers using TD vouchers and it is, if anything encouraging people to abuse the system. I suggest it is removed by a mod.
