Tesco DTD and fraud!!!

I know the Tesco Double The Difference is finished now but I feel I should warn people if they have a voucher left to spend to beware!! I posted earlier on the now defunct Tesco Price Checker 8 thread that my store had been scammed to the tune of £400 by someone with DTD vouchers. I subsequently received a private message from someone on here who posted a picture of a loft full of goods bought through the promotion back in May. They as good as admitted that they scammed 4 stores in my area to the tune of £400.00 plus per store over the weekend. So dont think it will be long before Tesco pull it altogether or at least make it very difficult to use.
So if you have vouchers still to use beware that Tesco are on high alert at the mo. Shame greedy people have to ruin it for everyone else.

  • Doubt if anyone would have a DTD voucher left as it was pulled 28th April

They are still doing TD afaik

and afaik most people used different email addresses, paid cash, no clubcard so what's to trace?

I think it was an ill-conceived scheme from Tesco which rightly flopped due to it's success for the customers - had Tesco not been more expensive then it may still have been ongoing. The fact that people *duh* used their brains and checked online before shopping is not at all surprising!

Who wouldn't?! Oh no let me pay more than I should... :rotfl:

I think you are being wound up. Pictures of the loft have been doing the rounds since the promotion went to JTD. No way anyone can rip a store off with DTD vouchers to the tune of £400 in one day. They wont accept vouchers over £20 so you you are telling me some one says they went in 20 times in one store in one day.
Then did another store in the same way.
Absolutely no chance. Not enough time in a day plus they would get questioned eventually and stopped.

why post this on the grabbit board though?
sorry i don't comment on inappropraite threads usually but we all know tesco's have very much clamped down and it is due to voucher misuse/reuse, if you have a legitimate voucher you have nothing to worry about?
    this is nothing new sorry

Some people still have DTD vouchers with stretched expiry dates. Not saying it was not wise to check prices and get DTD and now TD. Just pointed out what those particular people are doing will lead to withdrawal of Tesco taking any vouchers at all. Just plain greedy and verging on fraud.

Both my home store and the next nearest one told me they had been scammed to the tune of £400.00 on Saturday and that person pmd me to say that is what they did in 4 stores in my area. Seems to have been something to do with buying and then using Gift Cards. I dont see how someone could wind me up when they did not know where I was

didn't DTD and fraud exist from day 1 when the whole promotion started?

i remember the sheer number of posts asking whether they could print off vouchers again etc. the word 'fraud' came up about a million times in those threads.
