i too booked with First Choice

they recommended the Las Piramides as a splash hotel for families and did not mention that it was a 18 to 30s

Las Piramides was only a Splash Hotel from May 2011 but has lost there contract because of so many complaints from family holiday makers as it is used by other holiday tour companies as 18 to 30s and for 2012

the new splash resort in Tenerife for 2012 is the Parque Cristobal Bungalows

i was informed First Choice is in Breach of Regulations 1992
as they did supply misleading information and did not mention it was was 18 to 30s

there was drunken teens peeing pooing and vomiting in pool.
food and plates in pool and broken glass

teens fighting falling over drunk and screaming and running round naked banging doors to all hours

drunken teens sleeping round the pool from drunken night before

teens having sex on balconies in full view for every one to see

other reviews on trip adviser and holiday watchdog and other reviews state the same and witnessed by other family holiday makers who booked up for splash hotel

i did not receive the holiday i paid for and have put in a complaint and have asked for a replacement free holiday for me and my family for next year

this hotel is not for families with young children as it has been painted as a 18 to 30s holiday for many years and is still is and will not shake off there reputation over night especially when they keep excepting bookings for large numbers of teens booking all inclusive and trying to drink there moneys worth

Contact watchdog or one of these consumer columns in the Sunday papers.
Unfortunately when you put your trust in a company that has 17 yr old school leavers masquerading as "consultants" or "advisers" this will happen.

It wasnt Las Piramides, in Las Americas was it ? Certainly Id suggest you have been "mis sold" if it was described as a family resort. Its absolutely nuts in high season!

Yes, they have no control of other companies clients, but really they should make that clear before hand

the Las Piramides is not a Splash hotel for 2012 it lost its contract and it was only a splash resort from may this year as it is 18 to 30 and first choice should have never had this hotel as a splash in the first place

it has been given to the Parque Cristobal Bungalows & Siam Park for 2012

i too was mis sold this holiday i paid for a family holiday but it was 18 to 30s and not for young children, i have put in a complaint with first choice and waiting for reply. i have asked for a free replacement holiday for next year for me and my family because we never received the holiday we paid for as this was an 18 to 30s resort.

To be honest the actual resort of las americas is a 18-30's type resort, particularly in high season. Your much better of staying in costa adeje.
    £100 - £10,000

I was going to say exactly the same thing, better choice would be Los Cristianos. No one in their right mind having done any sort of research would take a family to Las Americas central, asking for trouble.
BTW don't go sending the families to Adeje, that's where we go and it would be just as bad having kids running around as drunken youths.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    Not true.
Plaza Americanas in Las Americas is a nice upmarket shopping, eating and drinking area opposite 5* Mediterranean Palace and Cleopatra Palace hotels.

Isn't that where the guy chopped off the womans head??!!!
Anyway, I thought that was more Los Cristanios.

I agree with budgetflyer, it is wrong to say all of PDLA is an 18-30's resort in high season. It all depends on where you stay. We went a few years ago and quite enjoyed it ( and we are not into the 18-30 target audience)

hi all hope you can help

i booked a holiday through a 1st choice shop, i told the assistant i wanted a family holiday with plenty for the children to do ect
she recomended a 1st choice splash resort, so booked all great she told me if you read the reviews it used to be a club 18-30s but now its a family hotel from 2011

so a week before we went i looked on trip adviser while looking at things to do in resort & the latest reviews were awful, i contacted 1st choice as the reviews said it was still 18-30s i was told they cant stop others booking in to the hotel & that if it was bad to get moved somewhere else while in resort
got to hotel & it was full of hen & stag groups along with 21st birthdays & 30th birthdays
not what i booked certainly not what i want my children seeing who are 14,9 & nearly 1, we were woke up every night except for one for 2 weeks one night at 1am 3.30 am & again at 5.50, i asked to be moved rooms & was offered a room on the 2nd floor up a metal stair case that i couldnt access with the pushchair
i ask to move hotels & was told we would have to pay £50 per person & more if the hotel cost more & lose the free water park tickets & because we were 2 families we would be in different hotels( we travelled with friends) so were unable to move.

since getting home ive phoned 1st choice to complain not something i would normal do but our holiday was totally ruined & today i had an answer phone message again saying sorry but 1st choice dont control who else book into the hotel.
please can anybody advise what i should do next ? im not happy that they have taken no responsibility for sending us to a hotel not suitable for children & that ive spent alot of money on a holiday that was not enjoyable at all :(

    thanks for reading

I all so booked First Choice as a Splash Family Holiday
I booked a Splash Holiday with First Choice and was recommended this hotel as it was Las Piramides and Siam Park resort in Tenerife
But when we got there with our children it was clear to see it was not a family hotel it was in fact 18 to 30s
There was drunken teens being abusive and vulgar and peeing and pooing and vomiting in kids pools and there was food and plates in kids pools where children cut there feet
There was teens having sex on there balconies, teens fighting creaming shouting being loud and abusive and very offensive to family holiday makers with children
Teens running round naked exposing them self’s drunk and falling over
    It was a frightening experience
Know chance of any sleep in this hotel as teens run round to all hours slamming doors creaming
The food was uneatable and we was forced to eat out as it was under cooked and cold
Many family holiday makers turned ill because of the pool and where complaining of stomach cramps / diarrhoea / vomiting and infected eardrums- earache
The Las Piramides has lost its contract as a splash hotel for 2012 with First Choice as there has been so many complaints from family holiday makers
And for 2012 the contract has gone to Parque Cristobal Bungalows & Siam Park
Holiday travel watch are advising families who experienced this and booked a splash family resort not 18 to 30s to complain to there holiday provider and seek legal Advise because First Choice has apparently miss sold the holiday and are liable under the Package Travel Regulations 1992 as they broke there contracts
And many families are asking for full refunds because they never got what they paid for and where terrorised by 18 to 30s
I agree this is not a hotel for families and is 18 to 30s on a tight budget as you would not want to stay in this hotel as a teen if you had money unless you was in to wild life, as the apartments where filthy and crawling with ants and cockroaches
the hotel Las Piramides its used for STAG and HEN parties and 18 to 30s and not for the faint hearted
I have all so put in a complaint like many others and asked for refund as this hotel is not what I paid for I paid for a family holiday not for me and my family to turn ill because of dirty pool and under cooked food or to be put in a filthy hotel with ants and cockroaches or to be abused and threatened or to be terrorised and frighten to leave apartment
I never paid for 18 to 30s where teens are out to party 24/7 and are only there to get !!!!ed drunk out of there skulls and to go wild and have sex
I don’t blame the teens directly even though there behaviour was unacceptable
The blame goes to FIRST CHOICE as they had a duty of care and this hotel should have never been a SPLASH HOTEL for families with children and FIRST CHOICE should be held responsible and should give a full refund and compensate families that booked a splash resort but got Las Piramides 18 to 30s
If you all so experienced this in July 2011 I would like to hear your story’s
