Afternoon all, lots of snow here now but roads seem OK.

Food today was toast for me for brekkie they had bacon rolls, lunch soup and dinner is now going to be Aberdeen Angus burgers as oh friend bought them in Costco and said why don't we have these for dinner. Youngest did was saying loudly to him at the cafe bit yuk you've got horse in your trolley !!. She asked me if they were contaminated and then said I'm having fish...oh well OK.

I was really annoyed in Costco as was getting pictures printed and some old man and lady came and took my trolley, only had trolley as friend was getting stuff and this is the best bit ran away down the row said to the oh check them they've just pinched the trolley, I wasn't happy. Never said anything but found out when back at truck that dd youngest had gone up to her and said excuse me where did you get that trolley, lady told he where and dd said that was my mums trolley, she said oh sorry it was my husband who just took it !!!. When we met up with oh friend he was carrying heaps of stuff so went and got another trolley, saw the lady oh just said it's alright got another trolley now, she just said well it was my husband that took it, I was thinking to myself well I saw you both take it, it was about 5 feet away from me.

Lynsey, I know cherries are really expensive I wouldn't pay that for them.

Right off for just now, catch up later.

Deleted_User ooh Arctic roll, OH was telling me how he loved this with his mother's jelly on top.

The plan for Easter Monday is that OH and I will get train down to my mother's so we get nice peaceful countryside and we are going to do the food so she gets a break. I'm going to try and find out whether I can get Ocado or Abel & Cole or Riverford to deliver stuff there in advance rather than us cart it down on train. I'm pretty sure Ocado does Arctic roll ;)

We are supposed to get 5cm of snow today/Monday no sign of flake so far.

just trying ..trolleynapping in Costco  In ASDA people take YS out of other people's trolley and I got my BlackBerry stolen in the queue in Sainsbury's :(

Have you seen the Kirkland Signature Filippo Berio organic Extra Virgin olive oil in Costco ? It's 7.89 for 1.5 litres so works out more than ASDA, Sainsbury's or Tesco own brands. But it's probably a better oil. Morrisons has got the Borges organic Extra Virgin olive oil 50% off again right now at 2.34 for 500ml and it's probably jst as good as the Filippo Berio.

Edwardia, my oh got that very oil yesterday and the balsamic vinegar as they were letting you try it on fancy breads. It's really nice stuff would recommend it but it is pricey but will last a good while.

I did notice they had 5 litre bottles of the branded olive oil can't remember the name the dear one you get in the supermarket,£15 thought that was good value but oh wanted the Costco stuff after trying it.

    Hey sis

    Freezer movements here,
    In:
    Small joint of lamb
    1 loaf of whoopsie bread
Chicken burgers for kids tea tonight

    Out:
Stewing lamb for lancashire hotpot tomorrow
Chicken burgers for kids tea tonight (yep the same ones that went in this morning)
Sausages for kids tea tomorrow night

Up to the top of the freezer from the depths ready to get out later in week:
    Scampi
    Steak x 2
    Fish cakes

Meal plan done, larder emptied, wiped out, sorted and re-stacked with a much better idea of what's there.
So that was my Mother's Day.

Hello, hope all had a nice weekend. Nothing out of freezer yesterday, went to youngest sons for dinner, lamb shanks, he is a very good cook wants to do this for a career instead of the building trade he is in. Big change ! Out of freezer today for tonight, fish, will have this with jacket potato and salad.

Morning all. Horrible snow here. I persuaded ds to stay at Mam's last night so I didn't have to do the school run this morning lol.

Went to Tesco Saturday and spent nearly £30. Peed off as I forgot a voucher for £4 off a £30 spend grrr. Mainly spent on Easter eggs and Mother's Day pressie. Didn't buy anything for the freezer - don't think I've bought anything for it for nearly a couple of weeks.

No plans for meals today - will probably do chicken kiev for tea tonight. Want to make lamb meatballs with feta this week. May do it tonight but will need to get the lamb out pronto if I am.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Morning all, slight dusting of snow here and cold.

Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Had porridge again (hubby eggs on toast) and not sure about late, probably a cheese omelette. I've also some h/m apple pie and custard to finish off.
    NSD yesterday.
Shopping for Brother later and check out any Morries bargains, but not much needed. I may buy bread buns.
Freezer clearance has slowed and maybe because hubby is eating more fruit and veg. It won't be cleared (1 freezer) by the end of March, but hopefully by the end of April ...................... unless chicken breasts are on half-price at Lidl before then. I'll try to meal plan (using the term lightly) the next two weeks.
If I can find some beef mince, I'll make a cottage pie for tomorrow.
This week I'll need tomato puree, sugar and perhaps bacon. Milk also Wednesday'ish. So a cheap week unless any great "whoopsies" appear.
I'll make minestrone once I pick up the tomato puree.

MOT Wednesday and needs some work beforehand, cost £100 so far on a service. Hoping there is still change from the £200 allocated, but fear it will cost a little more.

EDIT: forgot to add, anyone excited at seeing a bent MP (and former wife) getting jailed today?? :D

  • Morning all :)

Decided to make pepperoni pizza for lunch, need something quite satisfying as will be rushed off my feet tonight! Portion of chicken and bacon pasta for after work.

Also results of the interviews are out today.....so its either going to be a mega squee day or a mega blah day! :rotfl:

Used the last of the brown bread this morning so OUT of freezer came 1/4 loaf white bread, will take out the diced beef later so I can make and portion stirfry tomorrow while I'm having a day off.

Will be shopping tomorrow, will try not to go too mad on the y/s counter although we need quite a few things - cupboards starting to get a bit empty!
