Oh, it's snowing here so it's arrived.
Ds just came and told us as he was wanting to go out on the motorbike with oh so that won't be happening.0 -
Evening all
Quiet day here, was at work all day
Tomorrow is a duvet day for me as well as cooking for DM. Wont be having anything major as she's still having some aversions to lots of food, and I'm kind of happy to rest a bit after a long week.
IN FREEZER
half a loaf of fruit bread
OUT FREEZER
2 x chicken breasts for dinner tomorrow
1/4 loaf of brown bread for toast etc
Next week will be a busy one for me, working every shift except 1, we have Priscilla Queen of the Desert and we're catering to 1000-1500 every show (so 10k+ people by the end of the week!)
Will be nipping to T's quickly on Tuesday to pick up just a few things as well, hoping for some y/s bargains

Just popping in briefly, I decided to start comping again and was on major catch up... so have not been catching up on the groceries section... had a food win this week by surprise, big box of chilled meals turned up out of the blue, wondered what the hell it was! but they mostly contained meat/fish so gave them to my mum.
No way my freezer will be emptied by the end of March as I'd hoped though I have been using stuff out of it including eating rhubarb I picked 2 years ago, desperation times - turned it into a crumble. Made too much crumble topping so stuck that in the freezer, presume it freezes ok?
I've only been having deliveries mostly, of veg and dairy mainly so it's made me use up quite a few things out of the baking cupboard. Apart from the odd trip to Waitrose I've barely stepped foot in a supermarket and I love it.
Meals have probably been a lot healthier this year for the lack of shopping and all the veg box deliveries - haven't bought any fake meat at all! Been having lots of puy lentils instead and making one pot meals up. Going to keep that up and use my stash of home grown beans up.
Spends remain about £30 a week however.0 -
Morning all, snowing here this morning!!
Had breakfast and coffee in bed ............................. for a change. lol
Yogurt and toasted hot cross bun loaf for breakfast, just snack during the day (my chocs pressie) and we are having MIL tonight for tea - hubby doing the lot.
Not too sure if I'll shop today, see how the weather goes. Last day for Morries 48p gammon ham, but not to worry if I miss it.
just trying - they were good bargains, but £3.50 for 200g of cherries at full price?? What a waste of £3.50!! Think of the bargains you could buy with that.
Catch up later, enjoy your day.

Hi everyone, I posted ages ago then lost my way but I need to get back to this. Have done freezer and larder inventory and we have enough food to last us 6 months I reckon

Today we're having the outlaws over for dinner so that's a joint of beef and a joint of pork out the freezer - probably leftovers to go in the freezer later though! Have done a mealplan for the week and will stick to it - I will, honest guv!
Need a few bits for the freezer (chicken, bacon off-cuts and gammon joints) but now I can see what we don't need any more of (sausages!) so I can try and only buy what we need.
Must get the freezer inventory down as found a new butcher who comes to the farmers market in Reading and his prices look really reasonable but I can't buy anything from him until I run my freezer down a lot :rotfl:0 -
Hi y'all especially the mothers on here. I was in Morrisons yesterday with my mother - nice store, but full of screaming kids running around.
Morrisons organic 80 teabags 51p a box cheaper than Sainsbury's SO organic and Tesco organic. Picked up organic button mushrooms and organic closed cup white mushrooms £1 each (not YS). Had some for breakfast today and unimpressed.
Morrisons organic cucumber 1.25 but there must have been a till glitch as I was charged 90p. Morrisons organic vacuum-packed beetoot was 89p IIRC and usually £1 in Sainsbury's and Waitrose. Morrisons organic Fairtrade bananas total rip off though, smallest bananas I've ever seen and 37p per hand dearer than Lidl.
Got the Mornflake organic oats offer £1 and picked up four of the Borges organic EV olive oil 50% off so at 2.34 even cheaper than ASDA, Sainsbury's and Tesco (2.48/2.49).
My mother picked up some new processed soil mould I mean Quorn so she was happy.
Idiot drivers nearly hit us twice. One coming out of shopping centre shot out in front of us into road without looking, stopped dead and then as my mother swerved round him then started reversing and didn't see us. Second time car sped up road between us and parked car and clipped drivers side mirror.
NSD today and no freezer movements yet.0 -
Afternoon all.
Had to bin T's Value cheese spread this morning, had large splotches of green mould on it! Will not be buying it again, will switch back to the Rondele spread I used to buy, as that keeps for weeks without spoiling.
Rice and tortilla wraps for dinner, leftover popcorn and a mini dairy choc bar for after
Since I just came out of a hectic week + cold and have a hectic week next week, DM is ok with me just cooking chicken for dinner, we're going to have some leftover salad and other bits with it, bread for DM and I'll have 2 more of the leftover wraps in cupboard. Might make shandy too, think we have some 1 leftover bottle of beer and some lemonade stashed away. Arctic roll ice cream for dessert
Moved some bits from outside freezer to indoor freezer: pack of mince, 3 x ready meals, double pack bacon, pack of diced beef and rest of frozen stirfry veggies.
Will make stirfry again this week and will do for lunches to take to work if need be.0 -
