Made the most of having the car this morning and drove to sainsburys for my fresh food. Steered myself away from meat, reduced stuff and freezers!
Got basics stuff mainly, potatoes, herbs, fruit, carrots, sandwich meat, yoghurts, salad, binbags, juice.
Spent about £40 but £10 of that was on some new socks for dd and ds

Morning all
Another cold one down here in Landan Town
Not much going in/coming out of freezer today. Meal plans are quite basic - toast for breakfast, leftover microwave burger thing with handful oven chips for lunch, DMs having crumpets I think.
Dinner will be leftover sweetcorn/cabbage with frozen sausages and Aunt B's yorkshire puds to make mini toad in the hole.gailey - are you having a hard time with hubby??
Did you buy a cucumber yesterday?? A large one??
Maybe we can have a competition to suggest where you stick it?? No lube either. :rotfl:

They'll be fine. Just being in the freezer so long, some things can lose their taste a bit. Prawns have a habit of doing that.
Well, hubby had the faggots tonight, so far so good. He agreed with Lip_Stick that they had lost some of the taste otherwise they were fine. Thanks to all for your advice.0 -
Hi Everyone,
I know I've not been posting very often lately, life has got in the way. Had a bad reaction to some new tablets, fortunately having chatted with some family medics, tablets have been changed and I'm feeling a bit better.
The downside was that when I was feeling unwell economy went out of the window, meals were plain and simple, however, all out of freezer, steak and salad, venison or salmon sandwiches, chicken/pheasant roasted with crisps, I think I have blown about 2/3 wks meat in one week, not good for the purse:(
So tonight it's lambs hearts, and something with lemon curd I d today,0 -
Evening all.
Had a satsuma for breakfast, down to 1 and they are currently £1 in Mr s so will get more, I had a dominos £1.99 personal pizza for lunch with a ginger beer, had a scone for tea, and just had dinner using up leftovers of a garlic bread, pulled pork, the last roll I took out of the freezer, had it warm with butter, spinach, green beans, broccoli and a beetroot, was a feast but not too much of each except veg.
Put a garlic bread in the freezer yesterday and today I put I. assorted mini rolls, I am running out of meat, but have taken out a pack of mince, I'm going to make chilli and wedges tomorrow, chilli in sc with 5 beans and a pack of.tomatoes that.came with something lol.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Just 1 HM muffin came out of freezer this evening. Nothing went in.
I had to change the menu plan about - went to Dentist this afternoon. Had 3 injections and a nerve removed from my tooth so needed softer food.
We had HM wedges with poached egg and spicy baked beans - Ald. ones with fresh ground black pepper and a dash of Peri Peri sauce added.

Hi All,
Welcome to squeakysue!
Life has been crazy of late. Hubby is taking voluntary redundancy and as from 19th March will not have a job, but if he didn't it is highly likely he will be made redundant anyway so it isn't really a choice. We have just upgraded our caravan and he is only going to get paid a half months salary for March. hmmm.. here is hoping he will land a new job quickly... the kids are needing feeding for many years yet!!
Plus side is that the freezer and cupboards are pretty much rammed (esp after a visit to Sainsbobs last night to get empty boxes and then also getting SHEDloads of reduced items that filled up the freezer to the brim. (I actually have a couple of packs of food in my mom's freezer - she lives 35 miles away - because I can't fit it in mine but it was a bargain. So I have till next week to make room when she brings it down. heehee...)
Tonight I cooked a lovely chorizo and butterbean stew using just chorizo from the freezer. Was yummy! None left!
Hope you are all ok. x3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Morning all.
katskorner - good luck to the future, hope you hubby gets sorted quickly.
Good luck also to those with the Dentist.
Spent £2 yesterday on 4 pints milk (£1) and 2 x Haagen Dazs 2 x 2 tubs (50p per pack).
Porridge today for breakfast and need more now.
Pork casserole later.
Still on track for £10 weekly spend and TBH, nothing needed. Well nothing that can't wait until Sunday.
Popping in to a large Sainsbury's later to see if they have the Kleenex wipes and if yes, then I'll get some foodbank stuff.

Morning all. Feeling a bit tired. Ds wanted to play hide and seek at whatever hour it was that he was shouting 'Mummmm come and find me!!!'. Can't say I was that impressed lol. His ear appointment went well. The hearing aids look snazzy. He's decided to go for metallic red behind the ear, and yellow for inside the ear so it's like Iron Man colours. We're calling them his ear gadgets lol.
Had to get ds dinner from Greggs when out yesterday as we weren't at the clinic for as long as I thought we'd be, so decided to take him to school for the afternoon. I saved my steak bake for tea.
He's gone to school with a salmon sandwich, yoghurt and fruit. I'll be having soup. Think I'll do chicken kiev for tea.
zafiro. Nice to see you posting again and glad you're feeling on the mend. Don't stress about the meat, can't be helped. What does lamb's heart taste like? I like kidneys but not keen on liver, is it like any of those?
katskorner. Sorry to hear about your hubby's job. Hope he gets fixed up with something soon. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0
