Wow... it's certainly windy out there. It's blown all my Monday morning cobwebs away!

Went to Asda and spent about £20. £6 was on school shorts and t-shirts, plus another £4 was on a piece of meat that was whoopsied, for mum, so will get that back. So, spent £10 on food. There was a stack of whoopsies, but not great amounts off so didn't get much. Not sure if I should pop back later.

Have my carrot and lentil stew in the slow cooker. Reckon I'll enjoy that tonight.

fozziebear I could just eat a tuna sandwich now.

zafiro1984 - your kitchen still needs a birthday? Eh?????????

Meadows - hello there. That haddock meals sounds lovely.

Edwardia - I'm wavering too, and I haven't even started! A bacon and tomato sandwich would have gone down great this morning on the way back from school.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Thanks it was, your C&L stew sounds nice I hope you enjoy :) we are having with Stem Ginger Salmon with Garlic Pak Choi served with Basmati Rice and Mango Salsa and everything from the fridge or freezer.

As for going back for the whoopsies, yes why not if you have the time and it is cost effective (not too far to travel).

    Duchy Scones.. definitely naughty.

OH was supposed to take baklava I made Saturday to work and hasn't so tomorrow he has to take that plus 4 cheese scones out of freezer and some prosciutto from fridge.

Abel & Cole delivered today, yogurt was well bashed in and had leaked so got it refunded as everything was sticky and other yogurts leaked too.

Going to do veggie pot au feu for dinner I think unless I find meat in fridge. OH agreed to go veggie for a week grrr

I made Buttermilk scones at the weekend (along with, Panforte & Mincemeat (sweet) Christmas Cake) for hubby's lunches they are so light and fluffy.

    Buttermilk Scones
    Serves: 12
    400g Plain Flour
    100g Caster Sugar
    1/2 tsp. Baking powder
    1/2 tsp. Bicarbonate of soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    175g Soft Butter
    250ml Buttermilk
    Preheat oven to 220° C
Sift dry ingredients in a bowl. Add room temperature butter and cut into the dry ingredients with a fork until the mixture resembles dry breadcrumbs. Add buttermilk and mix. The dough will be a bit moist. Roll half the dough into a ball and flatten on floured surface. Cut into six pieces with a scone cutter or simply cut into wedges. Repeat with the remaining dough.
Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes. You can brush buttermilk on top and sprinkle with sugar before baking if desired.
Serve them warm with butter or jam!

You can also add sultanas or fresh blueberries to this recipe as a variation.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
