Out today is 2x bread and the last of a jar of peanut butter for peanut butter on toast for breakfast. For lunch I am having the last tin of soup and a banana.
For tea I am going to make pasta with pesto cooked with mushrooms and cherry tomatoes in, and asparagus on the side. Last jar of pesto out, and the 1/2 of the asparagus.
Going to be a tight couple of months but I think we have a good amount of food to get by on with small fruit & veg shops at ALDI0 -
Thank you everyone for the comments. Hubby went in with chest infection. They also might do a back op while he is in and surgery to put a feeding tube into his stomach as the nose tubes are not staying in.
First time on since xmas so catching up on the comments.
Hope everyone had a good xmas and new year.Looking for bargains anywhere i can :hello:0 -
New Years Resolution - to work through the contents of one freezer at a time. Hope it works - the reasoning behind this is that I shall have to be creative and use up everything before moving onto the next one, not just picking what is easy and what I fancy.
Lunch:- was HM soup, parsnip and squash, it freezes ok but I never seem to be able to freeze HM leek and potato - turns out like a felt mat when defrosted.:(
Tea:-cooked and frozen mince, I think it was meant to be the inners of cottage pie but I shall cube a potato and put a pastry topping on it. I'm having 2 slices of bread with a sweet onion, (stewing as I write) peppers, toms olives and anchives on top.
Pudding:- strawbs with choc for OH, mango for me - both Christmas leftovers0 -
Evening all, took daughter to the dentist this morning, she got some fisher sealant on a back tooth. We then went and got the lottery and a bottle of vino (my favourite one) and had a look around the shops, i bought 2 lampshades and that was it. A miracle for me. Oh was looking at the reduced bit, i told him to get away from it as i have no room in the freezer.
The food today was brekkie cereal, lunch soup and dinner was meatballs and pasta.
Nice day here, have a nice evening all x.0 -
Just trying well done for.getting your oh away from reductions, that's the spirit!
Went to Mr w and.spent a few quid o. Junk because I fancied crisps I love them, did get some seafood sticks love them too! That will do for.lunches, just picking today.
Will have a jacket potato, chicken, veg and salad again for dinner, the other 4 jackets, I'm going to scoop out for mash and put the skins in freezer, make.potato skins at some point. Need to use up the soup, may do that tomorrow with a sandwich and chicken and.mash for dinner! Off now to eat my junk.
Love how everyone is now involved in the sealed pot challenge lol.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Hi everyone. Managed another run today after a 4 mile walk yesterday and managed to shave 14 seconds off my per km time - 6.3km in just under 39 mins
.
Also had a bonus at Mr T yesterday when I go them to check a couple of old moneycards I had lurking in my wallet that I thought were empty - turns out they had £20 on them combined!! YAY!
Small spend today as needed to get hot chocolate from Sainsbobs as mr T had none last night. Did quite well in there:
got 2 packs of basics cocoa 99p each
2 packs cappucino decaf unsweetened (my guilty pleasure) at £1.49 each on offer
a pack of christmas tree secnted tealights reduced to £1.35 from £4 (currently burning some in the kitchen).
Managed to use some coupons netting me £2.50 off the bill for my trouble. So paid just over £3.
Then went in Mr T as after the decaf yorkshire tea that is currently better than half price at £1 for 80. They had one box. Well at least that was one better than last night! Also got a few reduced bits of Christmas foods that I thought we could try for next to nothing. Got white stilton and fruits (31p), chutney christmas cheddar (31p), 2 packs party vol-u-vonts (17p each), 3 pks pink soup dated 11 Jan (20p each), big tub brandy thick bream (10p) and a few more bits and pieces - receipt not to hand. Only managed a 40p coupon though as till op was very sharp! Total shop £6.40.
Apart from milk, decaf tea and cheerios (half price till 29/1 in mr t)that is me done for the week. Might go visit butcher friend on sunday to say hi but don't need anything.
on the hunt for more decent coupons when I get time to look!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

I've started well by sorting out the veg drawer. I made a big pot of cauli soup that I'll freeze in portions for OH lunches, peeled the wilted bits off the brussels and froze them. I found a bag of garlic cloves the PIL brought back from Spain but the outside skins were going mouldy so I peeled the lot (about 8 bulbs), gave half to my neighbour and have frozen the rest. I also had about 8 pears that were bought before Christmas but were still rock hard so I peeled those and have cooked them in sugar syrup - breakfasts for a few days.
I have to keep it up though...:oI was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

ooh blackandwhitebunny you just reminded me I have sprouts in the outside fridge that I need to check. Actually I need to clean out both fridges and freeze what is good and disinfect what isn't! lol!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Yeah Ms_night_Ryder I think he was shocked especially when he was shouting up the aisle what there was and I thought you liked that. Normally I wouldn't be able to walk away, the funny thing was the kids were looking at the reduced bit aswell I think they were shocked when I said no and get away from there and i continued walking. That shows restrain lol.0
