I haven't posted on here for ages. Today I did an inventory list of what we have got in our freezer. This will help us to meal plan. The only bargain I managed to get hold off this week was 12 slices of smoked salmon for £4. That has now been split into 3 different bags (2 portions in each bag).
Good luck to you all with your bargain hunting. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j0 -
Feel rubbish today - you can tell we are three weks into term when the germs come home. Nasty cough and sore throat / tight chest
.
Food this evening is pies - nom. Got out two mince beef and onion for the boys and did with roasted garlic potatoes, orange-blossomed honey roast parsnips, carrots, cauli and gravy. We are having pie wedges (steak and ale from Morries [820 cals each ]) with garlic roasties and peas and gravy later.
We would eat with the boys today except we took them bowling on a groupon earlier and they needed to eat when we got home but we don't fancy it yet. Here is hoping there is another groupon for bowling soon, or similar - let me know if you spot one elsewhere plz!
Got the giant £2 chicken to cook at some point this week or freeze. Decisions, decisions. Boys have camp (Beavers/cubs) at the weekend so might save it for when they get back sunday for dinner.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Evening all, my freezer is full up of lovely meals again. I'm really pleased that it isn't full of random bits but full of healthy meals that we can eat
Need to update my signature when I check out my credit card statements.
Best bargain of the week was a huge bag of new potatoes for 20palso got a smaller bag of Vivaldi potatoes for 20p which were yummy.
The tin cupboard is looking healthy but manageable again so spends on groceries I envisage being around the £20 mark each week this month. May do one mass online shop of bread/crisps/biscuits for lunches each month...I'll have to weigh up if it works out cheaper or not.0 -
ammonite - I would like to get rid of random bits and tidy things up a bit.
NSD - I did look though and walked out of Sainsbury's. Only tried the one shop. First NSD for a while though. :j
I would love to only spend around £20 this week and no real reason to go over, but no intended budget - what happens, happens.
Took out sausages to have with mash either tomorrow or Tuesday. Hubby has smoked cod and kippers to get rid of.
Hoping the Tesco "glitch" with the free Nutri Grain bars works tomorrow. lol

I was just glad to see the end of garlic bread, random bread and donuts to be fair!
Well done for your NSD

Morning all
Not been on for ages and kept meaning to pop in so see how everyone is doing on their spends, but I thought of you guys at the weekend as I was sorting out my cupboards and using up yet more old out of date products from last year when I was obviously overspending!! It's taking an absolute age to use things up.. mainly baking things. I am at last making a dent in the over bought supplies and have some spaces appearing but I probably only use up 2 or 3 items per month, been making lots of fruit fairy cakes for weeks on end as had so much dried fruit... and now I'm on to biscuits using up nuts.. Made me realise just how low my budget should be for adequate spends - last year I probably averaged £150 per month and this year I am now at £50 per month with an expected yearly spend reduction of probably at least £1,000! - mainly only buying unprocessed basics and largely organic items where I can. Though I do have to do a lot of cooking from scratch which is time consuming and I'd like a break from lol.
Been some good veggie low prices in Morrisons lately, the Quorn Mince has been on offer a while for £1 and with added free beans and veg from the allotment I've been making 7 portions of bolognaise/cottage pie base out of that.
I've managed to get some junk food in (that I'd never buy!!) from comps/freebies. Amazing how much food manufacturers give away
I still don't think I will have used up my overstocked cupboards by Christmas though so I may have to lurk around this thread for another year, am longing for the day when I have just a minimal store cupboard and can buy things as needed and when nothing I eat will be out of date!!!0 -
Morning all, ii've been abit MIA lately so i'm going to try post with you lost most days
plan for today is

Kirri - lovely to see you posting here again, hope you are well.
Shopped for Brother this morning and picked up 4 tins of Heinz for free and 2 x Green's Pancake Mix for 10p each using 2 40p coupons - that's 20p out of Charity Fund.
NSD for myself so far.
Just snacking today and finishing off apple pie.
Popping into Sainsbury's later, but after a frugal week if possible.

Popped into Morrisons today and got a few bargains - their 6pk sour ice lollies are only 50p till the end of the week and as my kids eat loads I stocked up on 6 more boxes. I also got party breaded garlic king prawns for 50p a box instead of 3 for £5. Keep an eye open for the orange boxes in the freezer flashed with 3 for £5. It may be localised - not sure.
Got 1.5kg mince in the fridge to use / freeze so going to make a lasagne tonight with loads of hiudden veggies in it so they can't pick.
Still feeling rough and voice isn't working too well but not too bad, got to keep going with a 3 year old around!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Afternoon all.
Had to pop to the bank, so went to mr w.
i got 1 5 beans, 2 ec beef burgers, 2 haddock cheese fillets x 2 ec, ec2 chicken breast, onion rings, crafty scones, crafty lemon and raisin pancakes, x 6 yoplait tubes, sweet and sour sauce, mixed pepper stir fry and rice noodles all items reduced, with a further reduction from multibuys and 1 heinz coupon £15.30 down to £10 exactly, it would have been more, the ec items are £4 each, but managed to get all things but the onion rings reduced.
Easy day here, just put the free range lean pork mince in reduced from mr w for 99pin with a tin of 5 beans and a carton of chopped toms. all in slow cooker, so really ready when i am, not sure if i am having lunch, had the last of the breakfast smoothie.
Did go and give my box to sallie army round the corner, so starting novembers contribution with 2 tins of 5 beans, need to source another box lol
May or may not go to boxercise today, still need to finish the mr w mini roast and mash, which yesterday i had with some seasoned 5 beans, i had the mr w salmon grills and they were horrible managed to eat half of 1, but only because i drowned it in 5 seansoned beans first, that is the first horrible thing i have had from mr w.
I am noticing i am eating more and more from mr w, which i love, but also that i am eating really well and it is not costing me more, i barely shop in mr s, unless its for freebies, so far i am within my £12-15 weekly budget i have set for this week, really need onions and some f&v but i do have some stuff here, 2 bags of clems, 1 grapefruit, 1 apple, a bag of brocolli and a tin of sweetcorn, so i can survive, oh along with loads of 5 beans and tinned pears, i can survive.Lose 28lb 3/28lb
