Shopping finished for the week. Managed to get some fresh reduced bits today and also needed milk, but that should be all we need for the week as there's tons of meals in the freezer. Total spends this week = £12.02 :j very pleased with that. OH has gone out so haven't cooked dinner yet. Planning jacket potatoes with sausages (Quorn for me) and salad, yum0

Morning all.
Bought from Sainsbury's last night:
2 packs mango and peach yoghurts @ 10p per pack = 20p
TTD Madagascan Vanilla Custard @ 10p =10p
2 x Heinz 5 beans @ 85p = £1.70
Sub total £2
Used 2 x Heinz 85p coupons (minus £1.70)
Total = 30p (days total spend).
Got a £4 off £20 till spit, probably to give away unless the clothes sale comes on (would buy some leggings @ 25% off and using £4 off).
Breakfast today will be toasted tea-cake and yoghurts.
Lunch out at a carvery
Tonight cake and custard, or might buy some Xmas mince pies??
Out most of the day and will pop into shops when passing - days target is 10 tins of beans to donate and some Green's stuff.

Morning all,
To those of you who buy reduced yoghurts - do you freeze them? I often see yoghurts reduced but never buy them because they are usually on date and I just think it would be a waste as I'd never eat them in time.
Got up late this morning - up most of the night on phone to daughter in University - she was out (Freshers week) and kept ringing me to say that she wanted to go home but there was no-one who wanted to leave yet so she decided to walk home (about two miles through the not so solubrious areas of Manchester) and so she stayed on the phone to me the whole walk home, which meant that I didn't get to sleep until after 3.30 and then I overslept so younger daughter was late for school!!
Haven't had any breakfast - might have a slice of toast in a minute, lunch will be soup of some kind - might make some chicken noodle soup which is lovely, and dinner tonight will be the rest of the chicken thighs with hm savoury rice (just boiled rice with onions, sweetcorn and peas in it).
I bought a slow cooker from the Very catalogue, which should arrive today - it was reduced to £15 and is a three setting automatic one which I thought wasn't bad value. I am looking forward to making some things in it - younger daughter has quite a bit of after school stuff so eats at weird times so I figure that will help to stop her eating rubbish snack food if something isn't ready when she is.
NSD day yesterday, except for a portion of chips for younger daughter on way home from athletics.
REally need to sort out the freezer today sometime - it is so frosty - I need to defrost it but it is such a mammoth task that I keep putting it off and off......
katskorner - fish chips peas and b&b is one of my favourite all time teas!
Hope you all have a good day! am off to investigate the coupon thread again....Jane

I've just made a half packet up of Wright's Ciabatta bread mix and it was very nice. Eating some hot now with Lurpak. lol
Lynsey
I've never done the ciabatta - might give it a go. I do make loaves occasionally, but they never turn out amazing, I just can't cut them. I've started just doing the white rolls and they are much better!0 -

14 tins so far and a little Greens's stuff - hope my effort is appreciated.

2 x Cheddars @ 54p = £1.08
Sub total = £3.33
Used 3 x Green's 40p and 2 x Heinz 85p coupons (minus £2.90)
Total = 43p (food)

Sub total = £3.88
Used 2 x Greens's 40p and 2 x Heinz 85p coupons (minus £2.50)
Total = £1.38
Sainsbury's: (few transactions)
8 x Heinz 5 beans @ 85p = £6.80
Choc Sandwich cake (offer) @ 50p = 50p
2 x McVities Fruit Cake (reduced from £1.35) @ 36p = 72p
Lambs liver (reduced from £1.09) @ 59 = 59p
Sausage meat (reduced from £2) @ 99p = 99p
Sub total = £9.60
Used 8 x Heinz 85p coupons (minus £6.80)
Total = £2.80
Also bought some more printer paper (offer at £2.49). lol
Days food spends = £4.61
Might go to Tesco later if the wine glitch is working.
Crown Carvery was not great but filled a hole with the free ice-cream voucher.
Just snacking tonight and cake and custard later.
Froze the sausage meat, liver and some bread along with the belly pork slices - annoying as I was enjoying the gaps!!
No Lidl meat, so shouldn't really need to put in anything else.

Had a bit of a day today and didn't get time to make the fish pie or anything else so ended up making a quickie pasta for the kids with a tin of tuna, dolmio stir-in sauce and veg left over from sunday roast - they loved it and scoffed it all up
.
We decided to dig out a chinese and found two tesco fresh frozen ready meals and some mini snacks (which hubby deep fried when I wasn't in the room grrrrrrrrrrrrrr) with a pack of micro egg fried rice, plus we made prawn crackers (then had to make more cos the kids ate them all). Still, made a bit of freezer space.
Fish pie has to happen tomorrow and the 500g mince will be frozen.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Got up early this morning after a few mornings of oversleeping:o and made porridge for me and sausage on toast for DD for breakfast. I bought the Quaker oats in Tesco with my £1 Quaker voucher so they were only 50p and I had forgotten how nice they were. I didn't think that oats were that much different but these were lovely and creamy!
I am going into work for 10 and won't be back until about 2ish so might take a sandwich to eat on the way home (don't like to eat in work). I am still using up 10p loaves which I bought and froze but am down to the last couple so will have to start to look out for them again. I like the Hovis bread best.
Dinner tonight will be chicken thighs, stir fried with some baby corn, green beans, peppers and onions and a sachet of honey and lemon chicken stir fry which I found lurking in the cupboard. That's all the chicken thigh fillets used up then!
I was wondering, how many of you eat "supper"? When I was little we always had toast and tea, or cocoa and biscuits at about 9pm as our "supper" but I tend not to do it any more - probably because we eat later. I used to like supper better than any other meal!
Lynsey - your bargain hunting is awesome!!

Morning all, cold here today and the heating is on as it was last night.recovering_spendaholic wrote: »Lynsey - your bargain hunting is awesome!!
.............. or an obsession and excessive!!!
All the "tools of the trade" are right here on MSE, but you do need the time.
I post my offers hoping to help others show what can be achieved and not to "gloat", hope it's inspires even one or two. My inspiration is from others who do even better and use and abuse couponing even more. Read the right threads and "all is revealed".
We sometimes have crackers and cheese and maybe pickled onions and crisps and/or nuts as a snack or supper.
Popped to Tesco last night for the wine glitch and although they never had what was wanted, I did get 6 mini-bottles which worked out at 93p each.
I also picked up 2 more free Heinz 5 beans and spent 60p there on some Kallo Corn Cakes - on offer at 80p and used 2 x 50p Kallo coupons.
Also picked up some salmon fillets for my friend @ 80p per pack from £4.
Checked Sainsbury's, but not much. I got another 2 free Heinz 5 beans (18 tins for he day) and a pack of satsumas for 20p. Got a pack of satsumas for above friend and gave her some beans ................. she's paid me already. :rotfl:
So another 80p spent last night taking yesterdays food spends to £5.41.
Took out 2 packs of sausage and mash ready meals (hubby is off the rest of the week) which has cleared the space I filled yesterday. We'll have with carrots, peas and sweetcorn.
Thinking hubby may have a curry from freezer tonight (kung po).
Not sure if I'll be shopping today, but may pop out later.
Hospital appointment tomorrow, so will be hitting a few shops then.
I would like a few Wright's Ciabatta packets whilst they are 50p (20p with coupon) - but don't want loads, maybe 4 or 6 packets.
Hope it's warmer where you are and if not, stay warm.
Off to check the charities thread.
