    hi all

still not got back to posting on a daily basis yet - never seem to get a chance to sit down before 9pm by which time I am too shattered lol.

Anyway big news is .......................... my chest freezer in the garage has been emptied, defrosted, cleaned and restocked over the weekend :j:j:j.

It is due in the main to this thread as I have been really good at using up what I had and not buying for the sake of it which I normally do. I am now in the process of batch cooking again so we can have it fully stocked again. Did a costco meat run on sunday so well stocked with chicken, beef and mince. Hoping to get some lamb next week as its on offer then.

Will catch up on everyones news tonight.

Morrisons have put the 5 beans to 50p according to HDUK. Thankyou to the original poster. :)

    100% correct.

Had a right result in Morries thanks to coupons and the bean offer. I received a £2 off £20 in Morries on Saturday and had to do Brother's shopping today.
It was short of £20, so we bought bits to make up the money:

    4 x Heinz 5 beans @ 50p = £2
    2 x Lurpak (2 for £2) = £2
    Oykos yoghurts = £1.09
    Onions = 50p
    Sub total= £5.59
    Used £2 off £20 (minus £2)
    Used 4 x 85p Heinz coupons (minus £3.40)
    Total = 19p :rotfl:

Sadly not a NSD though. :D

    Maisie M - well done on emptying a freezer and re-starting. :T

Great shop Lynsey. I hope the 19p did not pain you too much. :p

I am really starting to worry about the kids going back to school on Wednesday, I have made so much progress since they have been off. I put that down to having to put on a brave face for them. I am not looking forward to it. :(

Hi Vintage, I am sure you will do well again. :)

It is sooo hot today here. I have had to come inside for a minute to get a cool drink.

Gardens are sorted, going to sit and have a nice squash in it before going for milk. :)

It is scary that normal families are running out of food. Do you think they would take the lemon pie fillings? I have around 60.:o

i'm sure they would if you look at the trussel trust website it lists what they need but also has a section for treats. someone on another thread said they would also take toiletries. so if anyone has a stash that family don't want then the food banks are a good place to donate to.

  • Evening all :)

Good day here, broke my promise of not stepping foot in a supermarket for the week ... on the first day :o Nipped to Tesco and bought five jars of the 20p mincemeat totalling £1 ... nothing else aside from those so not too bad. My OH and I starting our first Christmas traditions in our first home this year and I would really like baking mince pies to be one of them so this will make it nice and cheap :T

So £1 spend today, and we have used up the open carton of passata in the fridge from Sat nights HM pizza baguettes - made spicy tomato pasta with steamed YS broccoli for tea. Going to make tomorrows packed lunches in sec - OH will have cheese & chive sandwiches (homegrown chives) and I am going to have tuna, cucumber & mayo pasta.

Hope everyone has had a nice day, was very sunny here for once!

It spoilt what would have been a NSD. :D

I love days like this though, makes all the effort worthwhile.
No other spends today and would like a NSD tomorrow ................ unless I go to Morries!!!
BTW, my Brother did take the beans off our hands.

vintage43 - welcome back and good luck.

chardonnay - I'm going to have a good look at that Trust over the weekend. I would love to donate stuff and next year I may actually do a challenge - the challenge would be to get loads of free/near free stuff and donate to those who need it. I'm going to seriously have a think over the coming months. I've had loads of help getting the stuff and would have no problems passing it on to non-family.

Took out some diced chicken breast for a stir fry tomorrow.
The Lidl frying steak was not very nice.

Lynsey that reminds me I have a £4 off £40 shop at morrisons (are those till spits then?). I'll get an extra 10% off so a £40 shop should hopefully cost just over £30. Not bad. Will use that on Friday I think.

Some more bargain toys very happy :) Thomas will be a very happy boy come Christmas day I think!

Have been to the supermarket today but I did stick to essentials and small snacks so all good really.

Yes, it was a till spit.
I've got a couple for Sainsbury's, but they won't get used. I may pass them on if I pop into Sainsbury's.
I very rarely spend £20 and this year it's even rarer.

Just been checking easyJet - still no 2013 summer flights!!!!!! :(

  • Evening all.

Busy day here, had some of my free choc cheerios today for breakfast, left the house to meet my friend, with her kids and got my god daughter, took them to the park and lido they loved it, got a 4 pack of ribena and some popcorn from 99p store and bought a meal deal and a sandwich for us to have as a small picnic.
Had nandos with my family for dinner.

I'm not going to do any whoopsie shopping for 2 weeks, decided that when i get a good haul it lasts me ages, meat drawer is full again and i have plenty in other drawers which are now full, also went to iceland and got apack of cornettos, me. my cousin and god daughter had one, instead of going to the ice cream van which the kids were asking for, so 3 cornettos have been crammed into the freezer, i am out again tomorrow, will have a ms dinner if i fancy it, might cook the pork before i leave out tomorrow, taking my god daughter on the london duck tour, as she goes back to school wednesday, then going to a focus group.
