Hi Katie and Mariella.
It doesn't really matter what brands you buy, it is more trying not to shop if you don't need anything.
If you buy things you shouldn't can you just try taking the correct amount of cash with you? That way you have no choice but to just get what you went in for.£36/£240

I'm terrible. I take £40 with and my list and end up spending £80 and putting the rest on the card. I tend to buy things like bold washing gel when it's on offer, even though I have three under the sink already, and things like that, because I know they will get used.
I have no will poer at all. Might give it a go.0 -
Evening all
Had the ribs and have picked most of the day, did have the last bit of mackrel fillet, with cucumber and cream cheese, on a homebake roll, have 2 of those left, enough food in the fridge, still have the pork i sliced and is marinading in fridge.
Went to waitrose and got 3 sides and a box of chocs for £5got spinach mornay, rosemary potatoes and a garlic and rosemary garlic bread, also i think i timed it too late for most good reductions, but i did get 2 salmon and lemn cakes and 6 bbq chicken legs for £3.04 as a promotion kicked in afterreductions,it was £2.99 a pack or 2 for £5 saw loads of people with reduced items, so i deffo got there too late, as there was not much left, also when i got to the bakery section there were people just standing around with baskets and trollies full of reduced items lol, so i lingered and there was a girl putting out 5p, 7p stickers on the bread rools which people were grabbing, going to time it earlier next week if i go, the thing is i get suckered in by waitrose, i get delusions of grandeur and think i can chuck anyting in my basket, ended up having to put back a 3.99 dessert, raspberyy, almond and white choc slices lol, still manged to spend £12.48 on junk, but did have a moment of satisfaction when the till went from £21.56 to £12.48 lol. the strange thing is with my waitrose, none of my reduced items or any that i saw were actually about to expire, my chicken is for the 3rd and the salmon is for 4th, gonna keep my eyes on waitrose, there is bargains to be had, got some mini pittas for 25p down from 75p
Nothing needed this week, i am debating whether to go boxercise tomorrow or nandos with my family, taking my god daughter out for the day tomorrow, she's back at school wednesday.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Garlic bread out of the freezer tonight.
Tomorrow I'll be taking out a small turkey crown, veg and Yorkshire puddings. Potatoes for roasties from the cupboard. Will make my own gravy (or attempt to at least).
Really need to do a shop now but holding out until Friday and only buying essentials until then.
Hope everyone is ok. Thomas has a cold and I caught it. Sold some baby clothes and then went and bought more eek. All second hand thoughWife and mother :jGrocery budget

I used to do this, particularly with offers and it's not the worst way to spend your money but what I have come to realise is that the offers are on quite regularly. If I only have 1 surf bottle under the sink and see it on offer I'll buy a couple to stock up. If I already have 3+, I'll leave it because before I run out it will be on offer again. Same goes for lots of other things so now my cupboards arent' full of items we need to use up urgently before they go out of date.
You'll do well if you stick with us
ms_night_ryder - lol at your delusions of grandeur! Apparently we aren't even good enough to have a Waitrose in our area so we are most definitely not grandSome good bargains though even though it was £12
Good luck holding out Sequeena - I am trying too but we will definitely need bread and milk soon. Get well soon to the baba!
OUT: Roast potatoes and braised beef.
IN: Nothing
Feeling like it is back to school today even though I don't go to school. It is a nice crisp morning, my house is tidy, the washing & ironing is done and my freezer looks organised. It won't even last until Wednesday before chaos reigns again!
have a good day all0 -
Morning
Sequeena, I hope you and Thomas are feeling better today. x
Miss night ryder, I was not happy that I couldn't take advantage of that glitch. My nearest MrW is 50 miles away. Enjoy them though, great bargin.
Breakfast will be cereal once they get out of bed. They have waited until the last few days to start lying in.
Lunch will be the YS quiche and YS coleslaw I got yesterday. Carbonarra for dinner with some of the pork loin joint. I am also going to pull out some rhubarb and make a crumble.
It should be a nsd here.
Seems like it is going to be another nice day here, I might get a sit outside. :j£36/£240

Morning all, it does look like a nice day here, just a little breezy.
Welcome to both ma-ri-ella and katehesk - good luck and hope you do well.
Sequeena - hope you and little Thomas are well.
Soworried - there is a Waitrose in Eldon Square, near the bus concourse. Only small though and I've looked a few times, but no luck with bargains.
Cheese on toast for breakfast and beef casserole ................ finally.
Shopping for Brother again this morning and off to Morries. I'll pick up some free beans again and pass them on to him.
Hoping for a few NSD's this week and anything I have left out of my £25 will be spent on M&S cakes - something to look forward to.
Meals this week will be mostly planned around what I have.
I'll pick up some veg during the week.

Thankyou Lynsey, I never knew that. When I googled Hexham came up as the closest.
I might have a drive over this afternoon then. I like the chinese cash and carry in Newcastle as well for stocking up on noodles, chilli beef and king prawns. My NSD could become an expensive one though.:rotfl:£36/£240
