Lynsey i gave them a call, ls and they explained it how you did, so we shall see, i didnt know ls did credits,
Going to have a muller light, then watch the mens 200m finals
They give a £5 credit if you recommend someone and they purchase a deal or you have been recommended and buy something. I don't use them much, but they have been helpful in the past. I prefer Groupon.
Hope the 200m matches the 800m - that Guy (David Rudisha) was pure class.
Popped into Asda and bought (using the term loosely):
2 x Air Wick Aerosols @ £1 each and used 2 x £1 coupons (so free)
2 x Anchor cream @ 50p and used 2 x 50p coupons (so free)
2 x Munch Bunch Fromage Frais @ 50p each and used 2 x 50p coupons (so free) - for the kids.
1 x reduced loaf @ 28p
1 x reduced bloomer @ 17p
1 x reduced cod fillet @ 57p
1 x reduced cod fillet @ 28p
Total spend = £1.30 and £1.99 for the day - well pleased.
Sadly no £1 Nestle cereals in stock (free with coupon), but hopefully this weekend.
Froze quite a bit of bread (6 x 4 slices for toast) and rest for birds.
Took out the macaroni cheese and a pack of smoked bacon for breakfast sandwiches.

Morning,
Your coupon freebies match mine Lynsey. I don't think the supermarkets like my business anymore.:rotfl::T
It was MrA at Washington galleries that I managed to get the cereal at, Metro were sold out.
The kids decided late last night that they want to go to my parents for the weekend, so I will drive them there today.
My husband and I will probably get a take out for a treat with it just being us two.
Either that or a meal out somewhere now my back is a bit better.
That means nothing in or out today. I am still working on a meal plan to use up all my stocks.
Sequeena, reading your list reminded me that I have no mince, I must keep an eye out for some on offer or YS.£36/£240

Off helping a friend get a flat ready to sell (just bits to finish), so will be away most of the day and that should keep me out of the shops until tomorrow and that's ........................
...................... cheap chocolate day. :j
Might try Sainsbury's late on, but it will probably be too late!!!

Hi Everybody
I'm a long time lurker to this thread wanting to come out of the shadows and say thanks to everybody for inspiring me to get a grip on the bonkers amount of stuff we have in the freezers!
I was doing a menu plan for the entire week, but I had a bit of a light bulb moment last night and and realised that if we are buying all this YS stuff and doing what we can with coupons, then we are probably better off menu planning daily. It also gives me a chance to use up any leftovers too instead of wrapping them up and adding them to the freezer too, which only makes our freezer situation worse!
Looking forward to cheap chocolate day at Lidl tomorrow. I think I'll also be getting the rump steak too which I know I will have to make room in the freezers for, but it seems too good a deal to pass up (can you tell I'm trying to convince myself there!).
For dinner today, we had some Salami and grilled cheese sandwiches (salami from Lidl's offer last weekend), some salad and a YS BBQ chicken drumstick each. Tonight we will be having a YS tesco Sausage Pie and I've got some YS carrots and brocolli to use up, some jacket potatoes which I'll make into wedges and some pak choi from the other night which I'll cook off with some chopped up bacon in. If anybody has any room for afters, I've got some Chocolate muffins that I made a couple of days ago which I'll heat up and serve with chocolate custard.
Lynsey - do you go YS shopping every evening? You seem to get some amazing bargains.
Edwardia - I couldn't help thinking of you the other day when I was in Tesco and they were selling 4 pinters of Organic milk on YS at 89p each.
Thanks for all the inspiration guys. I hope to speak up a little more often now!0 -
I have been reading this thread for a few weeks, and come to a conclusion that i need to sort things out. my freezers (yes i have 3) and 2 fridges are beyond the requirements of my family and i have enough food to probably survive the deepest darkest winter should we ever have one. this is in addition to kitchen cupboards and emergency cupboard in the garage which are also full to bursting with food products. Help please where do i begin and get this down to a manageable level before we can no longer get through the doors.
you all sound so in control and organised with your shopping how do i get to that???
best wishes0 -

Welcome and welcome to summersun12 - hope you both do well.
I used to go shopping for bargains (ys or whoopsies) almost daily, but eased off a bit now as budget is well under control. I feared losing, hence going way OOT in search of bargains. That also means I agree with the "daily meal planning" as you never know what you may get and need to use at short notice.
I've stated many times, you just need to get your cheap "stock" and tick-over with bargains - that's my method anyway. You also need to compromise a little. You obviously appear to have the "stock", which is a great start. I tend to look for bargains @ 70%+ off.
Gardening almost done and no shopping ........... so far.
