Evening all. Still feeling a bit rubbish lol. Had a bit of chicken salad at mam's for lunch, not bothered with tea as had a late pudding of scone with strawberries, jam and clotted cream. Yummm.
Brought some of the lamb and feta meatballs out for tomorrow's tea. Will have it with pasta and a tomato and olive pasta sauce.
Lost my b1g1f token for legoland, but they've printed a couple in today's paper that my dad bought so that's saved me nearly £30! Thank god lol.
ms_night_ryder - sounds like you've had an amazing time. Congrats for your birthday btw.
Christi - hi there... you getting worried that your freezer is looking a bit empty lol? I've almost a free drawer, and I don't like the look of it lol.
Lynsey - good of you to help your friend. Hope she treats you.
ammonite - will check that fb page out thanks. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Had carrot and coriander soup and bread for lunch which I made yesterday afternoon, so nothing out of the freezer then. Me and the girls had tea at my parents tonight, so nothing from home used at all.
I have however just got some turkey breast steaks out of the freezer for dinner tomorrow to do in a stirfry, however I made the mistake of going into Tesco just before closing time (not planned to at all, but my friend I was out with wanted a drink!) and I bought -
A farmhouse loaf - 20p
2 packs of 6 crusty white rolls - 16p per pack
a pack of 4 granary rolls - 16p
a bloomer loaf - 17p
a chicken salad lunch - 40p
a baton - 10p
2 small boxes of prepared fruit - 25p per pack
a box of pomegranate - 25p
2 big boxes of prepared fruit - 40p per pack
a mushroom stirfry pack - 25p
The stirfry pack i'll use tomorrow night for tea with the turkey steaks I've just got out. The fruit will do for part of lunch/snacks for a few days (I've found the fruit seems to last at least 3 days in my fridge).
Some of the bread I'm going to make breadcrumbs and croutons with, so it didn't all go in the freezer!
The chicken salad will the girls lunch tomorrow.
So not a bad haul, but I definitely now have no room in my freezer :rotfl:0 -
Well done on your bargins caz
I just nipped to the co-op and ended up with coleslaw and lots of tiger buns and bread. A spend of 90p
And freezers can not take anymore.£36/£240

Well tonight's offering was last night's stew stripped of its sausages and cheesy dumplings as those were all polished off already, made into a soup simply by adding a couple of cups of UHT semi skimmed milk and heating through. For dessert was grandma Witmer's crumb cake, a recipe from more with less cookbook. It was delicious and very nice presentation wise as it has a crunchy crumb topping but even though most of the recipes in the book are low sugar this one was a tad too sweet despite cutting down on the sugar by about 1/4-1/3 next time I'll put half or less xx0

Flo! You need to tell us next time! We were all worried! So there.
oh yeah - also remembered that we dug out and apple pie from freezer when putting in meat haul yesterday for dessert today. Very nice it looked too - kids eating it as they need it more than I do....3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!
