Morning all and to the old faces :D (thanks for the nudge!) just on for a quick hi, hope all are well and savings lots of money by not spending too much?!

I've not been on for ages, I gave up eating out of the freezer post hospital and virtually gave up shopping.. I spend no more than about £10 a week now on fresh stuff. Then got into comping whilst ill, so spend most of my time online on there now!

My freezer is still rammed, my cupboards also as stuff in there rarely gets used unless for baking which I haven't done hardly any of either lately, though am trying to run stocks down still slowly. I'm winning lots of food items actually, it's well worth a visit to the comp boards!

Oh hey Kirri, I was wondering where you were, glad your o.k.

I'm having sausages and mash for lunch today, i have 2 cans of gravy that need using, i scooped to baked potatoes and got 4 potato skins out of it that i have frozen and will fill with cheese, yum, i took out the 3 pre cooked sausages so they should defrost soon, going to have 2 sausages, mash, sweetcorn and gravy for lunch, off to zumba and i have been moany because of not eating properly, therefore not doing the class properly, so i want to see the difference a good meal can make during the day rather than after zumba.

Didnt cook yesterday, lovely meal at my grandmas, i dont know what i will be having for dinner, maybe a spaghetti ready meal with veg, will also take out the bacon joint to put in sc for tomorrow.

Lynsey - have you been feeling ok? I notice you've not been hungry much lately.

Hope I'm not pregnant. lol :rotfl:

Mainly not eating much in the house, think I'm getting used to single meals now, but still snacking. Had a fair bit to eat on both meals out. Still getting plenty of calories also.
I have been having a few headaches and water in mouth thingy, but so have quite a few, though feeling fine now.

Kirri - lovely to see you back posting (hope it continues) and well done on comping wins. I only do the odd one for holidays etc. and no luck as expected!!

Brother decided he did want a few things from Morries and I got a 500g bag of carrots for 37p ............... supposed to be half-price ................ they are having a laugh!!
Trying to be frugal as much as possible until the weekend, luckily not much needed.

    Sainsbury's later tonight ............. maybe??

Mr F had a night off yesterday from freezer duties - nothing to come out or go in! :)
We had roast potatoes, roast parsnips, HM Toad in the Hole, gravy, roasted beetroot/onion/yellow pepper & asparagus for dinner.
Mr F has been on his freezer expedition tonight - got out a bag of chicken and some gammon. Nothing went in but - I have some bread on the go in the bread maker!

I didnt make it to zumba, i elected to have a nap instead and didnt wake up in time, no loss, kickboxing tomorrow.

I had the spag bol ready meal tf, was nice but alot of calories, i added some cheese and bread crumbs, some sweetcorn and had the rest of the italian salad.

I took out the bacon joint, its defrosted and in the fridge, will have that and the potato skins and some veg, prob corn on the cob tomorrow for dinner, maybe a sandwich for lunch, something substantial or i will be monay lol, i really fancy some spinach, so will get some in waitrose tomorrow after kickboxing, hopefully some reduction, but going for the meal deal glitch if its still on.

    Hi,
I'm new to this thread. We're eating out of the freezer and cupboards because we're saving up for a deposit to rent a new house. As a bonus we'll have less stuff to move!

Tonight we're having Orzo pasta with mushroom and garlic from Approved Foods.

Evening everyone, I hope you've all had a lovely day :)

My baby was fitted for his first shoes today, sniff! He's a size 3.5f :) Clarks are having a sale so we got his cruisers for £14 instead of £24 http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/s720x720/551745_4283562292457_1485740714_n.jpg

It was a day for savings really. I got 2 birthday presents for him from ELC for £11 (both reduced). One is a small wooden box with loads of different things on it to stimulate him (OH gave him this when we got home grr) and a little wooden mallet and pegs which you knock through a hole. Love wooden toys.

I used up a lot of fruit today to make an orange, pineapple, strawberry and banana smoothie. I've not actually had dinner yet so I'd best hop off.

Lynsey - Thanks for the advice about whoopsieing! Hope I get some bargains! Can't believe Aldi have 4 jacket pots for 39p..Sainsburys is 99p!

Lip_Stick - you are right it is a HUGE discrepancy! :o

Quintwins - Want to be £15 grocery buddies this week? I absolutely have to stick to that budget!

Desperately trying to get better with the budget as a baby ammonite is on the way later in the year and we seriously need to cut down on grocery buying. On the plus side I'll have time to go bargain hunting and to visit various supermarkets on maternity leave unlike now when I basically just have to run to the closest place!

purple.sarah - welcome to the thread, good luck with the savings for the new house rent.

Edwardia - interesting regarding the carrot prices, way too high for me. The most I ever pay is 69p per kilo and usually 19p/29p per pack from Sainsbury's etc when reduced.

ammonite - thanks for the jacket potato tip and congratulations on baby ammonite.

Veggie day completed and only 3 more left.
Only the carrots bought today and making minestrone tomorrow with added bacon bits.

Still not sure of main meals apart from toast tomorrow for breakfast.
Thinking of a chicken casserole to get rid of some diced chicken.
Trying not to shop until Wednesday, but may try Sainsbury's tomorrow night.
Need strawberry jam now as well as eggs and sugar.
