Lip_Stick - hardly spend anything apart from drinks and the odd snack. Food was brill and too much choice ............... hubby weighed himself this morning and he's put on 3kg. lol
I don't do scales.
Jane - thanks, nice and relaxing. In awe of the old dears who go out for 3 months at a time.
Hope you get a great deal on a new hoover.
Off to Aldi soon and pick up the baking potatoes and some salad stuff.
Took out some burgers (Asda Extra Special reduced from last December!!) - some more "old stock" rid of - still got loads of pork chops/steaks etc from last year.

Today's been a good raid - breakfast a croissant from freezer, lunch involved a deli pocket, also from freezer and tonight's dinner is also via freezer - breaded fish and prev frozen leftover potato bake and cabbage :j
Oh and rice pudding from a tin, that was given to me. So a very cheap day!I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

Hi All,
just about recovered now thank goodness! Not liking the bugz - stayz awayz from meeee...
Right meals. Have not put anything in freezer. Made a bolognaise two nights back and there are two portions to freeze so two more meals for us on the cheap and tasty (or all of us for one meal if we share with the kids).
Last night was burgers on ciabatta with salad. They were extra special moroccan burgers I had from Asda on clearance (4 for £1 in freezer section) and boy are they good! Got six left and looking forward to those. Added a topping of blue cheese and gherkins with red pepper relish and WOW - seriously nom.
Tonight is fillet of plaice marinaded in garlic oil, lemon juice, chilli flakes and fresh coriander. Been sitting in the fridge marinading all day since I made them this morning. Having with Birds eye rice fusions pilau rice and individual serve steamed veg bags (very cheap deal so got a few) so hoping this will all go lovely together and be nice! Went to see the Olympic Torch relay and bought the kids chippy shop chips while they waited - there were loads so I ate so too and not feeling that hungry. Hubby wants to eat together though so will have to step up exercise tomorrow to compensate....3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Spent £6.93 today and got quite a bit and not much needed apart from frozen peas, ice cream some more potatoes. After this week, starting Sunday 27th, my weekly spend should be under £25 per week until the end of June (5 weeks and £125 max). Just intend ticking over and picking up the odd bargain.
Took out some diced chicken and will skewer and grill for lunch tomorrow and have with salad. Might take some trout fillets out for hubby for his tea??
Sainsbury's have pate on BOGOF, so might get that at the weekend - love grilled pate on toast. Need to go to Asda to use the Anchor cream coupons. Sainsbury's free mag has a 50p Cravendale coupon in it (page 6) - 50p off per litre carton and valid until 10th July - need to get a few mags when passing. lol

the lentil soup I defrosted was a little bit watery but still tasted very nice - I haven't frozen it before so it may have been that. the spaghetti meatballs went down well too - it all got eaten!
When I made the meatball tomato sauce I just whizzed a tin of tomatoes, celery, onion, herbs, tomato ketchup, balsamic vinegar and an oxo cube in the blender and simmered the browned meatballs in it for about an hour. I made enough sauce so that i had some left over to make hm pizza tomorrow night. I will make the dough in the breadmaker using the Jamie Oliver recipe that Florenceem put on the other day.
I spent an hour or so before writing a list of all the shopping i would need for a month and then pricing it and the cheapest I could get it to was just under £300 so i am going to have a rethink somewhere!! i have let myself run very low on staples (am down to the last 10 teabags!) and need to restock them which makes it more expensive, and i will have to go and seek out more ys stuff, as I've let that slide lately.
Did I hear right before on TV (I was in the kitchen and the TV was on in the living room) that Cravendale is £1 for 2l in Morrisons?Jane

Tonight took out a couple of HM curries from freezer for dinner and am going to take out some chicken for tomorrow. Was getting tempted to buy the lidl bacon offer at w/e, but am thinking i wont now as i have so much other stuff to be using, and am going to try and really run it down, just adding stuff i have made out of stores. Have got loads of that powdered egg stuff, which im dying to make into quiches when i have room.0
