Just to "bore the pants off you".

End of week 18 and 3 x 6 weeks spends completed (definitely not going back out).
Week:
01 - £10.64
02 - £9.84
03 - £12.32
04 - £13.33
05 - £14.56
06 - £27.05 (stocked up on olive oils).
Total = £87.74
Week:
07 - £19.32
08 - £20.77
09 - £22.56
10 - £19.77
11 - £22.87
12 - £21.40
Total = £126.69
Week:
13 - £25.10
14 - £25.99
15 - £46.50 (stocked up on Nescafe).
16 - £16.11
17 - £24.12
18 - £27.55
Total = £165.57
18 week total = £380.00
Weekly average = £21.10
Weekly average looks good, but last 6 weeks (13 -18) have been high - average £27.60 (but includes Nescafe spend).
Pretty happy really and still well stocked up, more so in places, though short on "goodies" after finishing off Xmas stuff in the 1st 6 weeks (kept spending low).
"Whoopsies" are still available on a weekly basis, though scarce at times - this is the key for my low spending.
Only another 6 weeks of being a "scrooge" and almost half-way and second half with a bigger budget if the next 6 weeks go to plan!!
Thanks for the support, I have had two "down" periods and one of them I questioned if it was worth it. You lot got me through then, hopefully the doubts are over. The motivation I get from those posting here really, really helps.
Sorry for the long post.

Whether you are MSE out of necessity/saving the planet or to save some of your precious money for an item you really want/need or just plain enjoy. It is your money to do with as you choose.
I shop carefully/cook and bake but don't think I never have a spend! I am a crafter - let me loose at a craft exhibition! Then I will have a spend - it is all about what we choose to do with our money. Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Lynsey you are truely an inspiration, don't ever doubt your commitment to saving money and bagging a bargain! I love reading your posts and using your tips - the gammon ham has been v. much enjoyed by us this week;)
Keep up the good work.

Hi Everyone! I am absolutely FREEZING and have the heating on!!
Lynsey - i think you have done amazingly well with your bargain hunting - I just wish i was as disciplined.
i paid all this months bills yesterday and have the grand sum of about£300 left!! It should be better next month as I don't have as many bills and I spent most of the afternoon doing an excel spreadsheet of my budgets until October and if I am careful I should be better off as the year goes on.
Went to aldi today to get some savoury rice and spent £4.24 on carrots, bran flakes, tinned peaches in juice, sweetner and the rice. Then went to home and bargain and spent another £13 on more savoury rice, maggi cook in sauces (which I love), totm stuff, a notebook (to note down my meal plans and shopping lists), m and m's ( which I have eaten all in one go:o), and 18 Nicky loo rolls. I always use Andrex but have decided to give these a go as we use so much of the stuff!
Lunch today was the other one of the croque monsieur things from Lidl and dinner was chicken and savoury rice with mushrooms and salad. both DD's are out tonight - one clubbing and the other to a sleepover so i have a bit of peace!!
Feel like doing some baking - might try that syrup cake florenceem!! Or I might try a banana and peanut butter cake, or I might not bother and I might lose a bit of weight!!
i have to start a food diary tomorrow for the 10 days until I see the surgeon on 15th. I have to eat 100g of protein and keep carbs to 75g. I will probably struggle to eat that much protein!Jane
ENDIS. Employed, no disposable income or savings!0 -
Thanks for the support Guys.
Jane - I've got plenty of time to be disciplined, not as easy being a worker. Good luck with future issues, hope all goes to plan this time. Also hope you enjoy the Nicky and your "kids". lol
optimistic - glad you enjoyed the cheap gammon, I did and must have bought around 700g.
I've had some great deals and bargains from what MSE members have posted and if even if just one of my posts have helped only 1 single person, then it's been worth posting.
Not all posts suit everyone and never will, but if any posts help, that's what matters.
I'm really enjoying the challenge (despite down weeks) and others will do far better than myself. I'm happy at my level though.
I also enjoy all the mobile contracts I get for free/virtually free - it gives a real buzz. My son is the main benefactor there though!!!

cheerfulness4 and lyra, wow quite surprised that both of you have had this experience too.
lyra.. goat's butter.. any brand recommendations please? I'm trying all sorts of fats and oils at the moment and I've had goat's milk but not the butter.
I buy St Helens. It's expensive (£1.60) but great quality in my opinion & it's the only one I've come across, get mine from Tesco.0 -
evening all.. slightly drunk here, and exceptionally tired after a busy day. can't even be arsed to do capital letters!
had an indian meal out which was enjoyable. ds liked his tandoori chicken and messing about with the chutney bits. all was going well until a couple (the only other ones there at the time) walked out complaining their chicken wasn't cooked. They had a groupon voucher but had extra drinks and starters and refused to pay for anything (not sure they should have as they had the voucher). The woman was a chef apparently and wouldn't listen to requests of making another dish saying 'you're not getting a second chance at trying to kill us' lol.
The manager, or whoever it was asked if our meals were alright, and they were, then moaned that the couple had walked out owing for £18 worth of food. Not sure what to believe.
Spent £26 at tesco today on bits and pieces. Worked it out on a calculator as I'm going round so it came to £30 to get the £4 off... when I got to the till it was under... couldn't work out why, so grabbed something extra. Got to dad's car to realise I'd left some dips in the trolley!... I'm a THIEF!
Anyway, so are tesco most of the time so not bothered lol. Next two days will be nsd as I have about 10p in my purse.
Jane - It is cold tonight! Thought about putting the heating on but couldn't be bothered to move spud's toys so put on a thick dressing gown instead... nice and cosy now. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0
