Made home made soup tonight over a big massive bag of carrots I got reduced last week for 30p.
Also had apple crumble for pudding made for some apples I got reduced.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
I've been good today & I took my lunch to work with me which was HM red thai curry that I made & froze in April. Then tonight I've had a pasta concoction I made & froze in January livened up with a bit of wine & tomato pur!e.
I've just lifted some bread rolls out of the freezer for tomorrow's lunch. I bought them a couple of weeks ago for 10p in A$da along with another 7 bread items all at 10p each. Hopefully those little bargains will keep me going for a couple of weeks!Aug NSDs: 18/[STRIKE]6 [/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15[/STRIKE] 18

Help, I've just got really excited as I've just found a block of cheese at the back of the fridge that I didn't know I had. I've got a 2.5kg bag of potatoes I bought at Mr T's over a week ago for 9p so I'll be able to have jacket potatoes with cheese.:o
I think I've finally lost the plot getting so excited about this sort of thing!!:pAug NSDs: 18/[STRIKE]6 [/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15[/STRIKE] 18

hello.
I have been watching this with interest since it first started, and am sort of making headway, with the tins and packets, but for some reason not the freezer.
Perhaps someone could explain to me how it is that when I take something out of the freezer, or the cupboard for that matter, I seem to have LESS room in there than before!
At the moment I have about 1 cubic inch of space in there. I know it should be more, but somehow it isn't.
I take one thing out of the freezer then, spend the next 10mins re-jigging everything so the drawer will close again.
The tins were nicely stacked and because I shop from approved foods I tend to have 10+ of the same item, I get one out and the rest come crashing down and it takes half an hour to put it all back without fear of anything falling on someones head.
Today I had tinned potatoes (AF) fried with onion, mushrooms, (both reduced) pepper out of a jar. (AF) and a few peas from the garden. Once it was nice and crispy, loads of brown sauce...Ebay 13........1583.46/2000.00 Amazon sales 54/50 Etsy sales 63/50

Morning all, should be a NSD today (and hopefully all weekend). Chicken and chips last night, chinese chicken planned for tonight, perhaps paella for Saturday (have a few prawns in the freezer) and chicken soup for Sunday.
Lots of housework planned for tomorrowbut may go out for a walk early on to check the blackberries by us. Recently bought a halogen oven so thought I might try making some fruit leathers?
Lynsey, I've made meatloaf with beef before and either gone the 'Italian' route with basil and a tomato sauce, or more BBQ-sauce like. I also find bulking with lentils works better than bigger beans as the slices stay firmer (not that any of it seems to last very long..)
SK - anything savoury rather than sweet for breakfast - sounds yummy!Sometimes, I can't see the wood for the trees - or the couscous for the quinoa... 3 no spends so far for August 2011!0 -
morning all yesterday i decided i'd have some boiled egg but as they were cooking i remebered my appointment was in 30mins not an hr's time so had to run out, when i got back i turned them into egg mayo so i just had an egg mayo sandwich for breakfast (prob not a balanaced breakfast) the kids had toast and oranges, they can have egg mayo sandwichs for lunch and i'll have cuppa soup, dinner tonight is coctail sausages beans and mash.
I'm running out of bread but i have baps, muffins and pancakes in the freezer so i'm not going to buy any until my shopping comes next wed however i am gonna have to buy some milk before thenDEC GC £463.67/£450
