Afternoon everyone
We've definitely got to a stage were we just buy restock items. Todays finds in sainsbobs were peppersauce at 50p for 2 packets and also got some ainsley cous cous for 2 for £1. I know its often cheaper at asd* but we seldom go in there. Also got 2 packets of the odditi*s with 30p off coupons.
But..........our big stock up item was wine24 bottles as its 25% off weekend. Hopefully that'll last us till July but its not certain.
We'll need a big cat food stock up soon.
We're out tonight so nothing needed out of the freezer. I've taken various bits out this week but its still rammed full.I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

Feeling seriously ropey today but nothing to do with illness, more indulgence!
My friend called last night and she had something brilliant to celebrate so the three of us girlies got together and got through a bit of wine and then she served huge baileys which I only drink at Christmas in a tiny glass so I am feeling it today! Had to be up at 7.30am too to take DS1 to swimming lessons - that was painful.
Not drinking tonight!!!
Food will either be the chinese food we have in the freezer or burgers and salad. Not sure what I fancy yet as only managed crisps since the cooked breakfast hubby made to help me recover... bless him for that!
kids are still having the chicken mayo burgers and fries so will have to get hubby to dig them out soon. Nearly half three already! Really tired....
spent £4.50 in asda this morning and got burgers and pizza fingers for freezer - bargain offer on morrocan burgers 4 x QP for £1 - had to try them for that so got 2 boxes!
not been to Lidl yet so not got kabanossi - might venture over tomorrow but not feeling like going out again today - too cold.. brrrrr.
Oh YES - and as for kids paying their way - I am afraid that living at home is a brilliant deal for them and when they are earning, they should contribute. After all, they eat, need heat and light etc and that doesn't come for free so why shouldn't they pay? Mine are little but if they want something we already encourage them to save their pocket money and will not buy on demand. My son tried to get me to buy stuff in the supermarket but I am not easily persuaded and he is getting the message - I have been teaching them about money for a while now. No point letting them have a shock later in life is there when i can prepare them now.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Never ventured back out and off to a Birthday party soon and no more shopping this week.
Total weeks spend was £24.12 and quite pleased with that.
Total 17 week spend = £352.25, so weekly average of just under £21 and well stocked up on coffee which will save future weeks budget.
9 weeks left until halfway and just under £250 budgeted, away for 1 week, so basically £30 per week as only 8 weeks spending.
Next week will be mainly fresh stuff and basics (milk, sugar and spread) and stock up on some 8p mushy peas from Sainsbury's (24 tins), 3 packets of biscuits (Lidl) and hopefully some more cheap crisps. If I get the space, then frozen sweetcorn and those BOGOF mushrooms. Any "whoopsied" fruit and veg would be welcomed. Any silly offers would also be welcomed.
Catch up tomorrow.

We were very bad we had mcd's for lunch to be fair we were moving stuff then we relised it was half 2 no wonder the kids we're grumpy lol, we've told them now it will be the last one for a long time.
Bacon sandwichs for breakfast, we're all still full from lunch, kids had a plum before bed, hubbys away fixing someones computer so we'll prob have chessy beans on toast later.
Not sure about tomorrow inlaws have said they might go away for the day in which case we're on our own for dinner, if thats the case it'll be something quick from the freezer as we won't know til the morning anyway.
i'm soooo tired def an early night, off to have a wee read threw and see what you have all been up to.DEC GC £463.67/£450

spent most of the day in bed (horrendous totm) and only came down at about 5.30 as I had a cracking headache from not having a drink all day!
Did myself fish from the freezer and a slice of bread and butter and did the kids meatballs and spaghetti - didn't have a jar of sauce so improvised by blitzing a tin of tomatoes, a stick of celery, a bit of sweetner, splash of red wine vinegar, an onion and two oxos (the spag bol ones) - kids said it was really nice so will do that again as it is loads cheaper!
We have no tomato ketchup left and you would think that it was a disaster of biblical proportions!! I will get some more on Monday so they will just have to wait.
Quintwins - i am never full after McDonalds!! I thought they must have put something in it to make it not fill you up for more than 10 minutes!
Katskorner - hope you feel better by tonight!
Lip_stick - I will definitely try the Asda shades - last time I was in Asda I don't remember them being that much cheaper so I will go next week.
Have just put a breadmix (last one) in the breadmaker on the dough cycle and will make some rolls to get us through to Monday. Bought some of that aldi Bertolli type spread yesterday and it is really nice. I would get the actual bertolli in Asda next week but i have a voucher for £5 off £35 in Aldi so i will get some more of their one to make up the spend to £35.
Lynsey - your budgeting is really impressive - can I ask - Did you start of with a large stockpile before you started the budget? i just can't get my spending down below £70 a week and that is with a fairly decent stock of staples.
Weighed myself this morning and had lost 4lbs:jJane

Mr F took a sandwich and a HM cheese/onion pastie out of the freezer tonight - but put in two gammon steaks. The c/o pastie is for Monday's dinner but getting it out now while putting something in means - we won't have to open that freezer again until bedtime Monday evening.
We had roast potatoes, beef/onion slice, carrot, onion, swede and baked onion for dinner.
OS - While the oven was on I cooked some chinese style chicken ready for tomorrow. Just have to cook rice/do peas in the MW and make some side salad for Sunday's meal.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Cut my food budget this week and not intentionally..I went to ASDA and Lidl plus Polish shop, OH went to Morrisons and whole lot came to around £75 saving £25. Was very strict about looking for fresh food, nothing processed at all. It's actually difficult to find it - even in the meat aisle at ASDA only 1/3rd is actual meat not ready meals and out of that much of it burgers, meatballs and sausages.
Fridge is groaning with green veg/salad though
Morrisons has rapeseed oil, EV olive oil, thick cut rump steaks, pineapple, Bonne Maman berries and cherries and peach conserves, Tilda rice, Cornish lemon sole, organic leeks, strawberries, raspberries and Rombouts coffee on special offer atm.
Re: McDonalds.. unless the burgers state 100% beef they contain cereal fillers. Then there's the fries, burger buns and soft drinks so lots of carbs, not much protein which will make you feel full. Same thing for Chinese food. If you want to feel full longer eating protein does it.0
