Hi AlwaysHappy welcome to the thread :)

I've been a right grouch today, giving up diet Pepsi. Headache, felt a bit dizzy.. tho probably never had more than 4 cans in a day over last year as OH doesn't approve of colas. Not sure the fruit juices from concentrate which he guzzles very healthy either tho.

Had some really nice grass fed NZ lamb chops from Lidl for dinner :) Nearly as good as the English lamb I got from Morrisons which I raved about a few weeks ago.

Freezer going down, seem to have run out of President unsalted butter eek so boiled eggs for breakfast tomorrow not fried. Hopefully new kettle and ghee etc turn up tomorrow :)

Today has started off well - have taken out some mince to defrost for a spaghetti bolognese tomorrow (will make tonight) and also taken out a cheese and onion pastie which will hopefully defrost in time for lunch. 2 out - 0 in!!! though as yet can't see any space....... one step at a time eh? now, must avoid those supermarkets. I can do it - I can do it.
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

    Morning.

Florenceem - tell your dog to get her own freezer. lol

AlwaysHappy - I'm thinking mince tomorrow for a shepherd's pie, trying not to buy and could have with swede, peas and sweetcorn - got no carrots left (apart from 1 tin), don't care much for tinned carrots though.

Bread is on dough setting, pretty motivated this morning. Added a little porridge oats (only 30/40g), milk and yeast last. Nice little treat for the birds when it fails again!!
Bacon sandwiches soon, can't wait and looking forward to them.

    Morning all!!

Pork joint from lidl out the freezer last night - not great, won't be buying it again, infact, thinking of returning to sainsbobs for while as lidl is getting a bit stale and I love the sainsbobs summer range. Hopefully doing a shop there tonight.

I will have chicken out the freezer (cripsy BE one on sale for pennies a box!) on a bed of salad. OH is either having steak or chicken, chips and beans depending on if he's been paid or not!

Lunch is rye thins and cucumber sticks :) YUM

    Morning all.

What a horrible start to the first school day for ds. Dreading going out! Will pop to Asda on the way home and pick a few things up. Need to write a quick list really, or I can see my shopping not going very well.

Taken an Italian chicken thing out of the freezer which is in a nice looking breadcrumb (I think!) with sauce). Need to grab salad leaves to go with it, plus potatoes and bread.

Right better get my tush shifted!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I found it quite hard going giving up the cola!! I was getting through too much and cost/health wise I am glad I gave it up now, suffered quite bad with headaches the first week or so and used to crave the sweetness.

I'm mainly on just the filter tap water now all day every day - I've had the odd bottle of fruit juice but I water that down and it's more a treat now than a regular, it's nice with carbonated water though I've given that up too except the odd occasion! Still got some Rock's squash in the fridge but now I'm just on water I find I don't really fancy something so sweet mostly. Or there is an organic cola available that should be a bit of a better alternative for a treat but it doesn't seem widely available.

Have noticed that the only 2-3 times I've had coke since January (ie when out/pub) it's made me feel really bloated and a bit ill feeling!

    Welcome AlwaysHappy :)

Starting day with some sort of fruit first then bit of toast. Am eating at least 3 bits of fruit a day now which I barely did before. No idea what I will eat the rest of the day, probably more houmous/pitta but then will see what else my mum brings me!! A week on and I'm still in too much discomfort to go out or bother cooking.

Edit, just went to read news and saw this re juices!

Dough looks much better this time, bake in about 10 minutes time.
Used Asda flour this time and seems better than Lidl's.

    420g flour
    30g porridge oats (Jordans)
    200ml water
    50ml milk
    little olive oil spread
    sugar
    salt
1 packet of Allinson yeast (put in last on top of flour)

    See what they taste like!!

BTW, I don't drink much juice now, apart from when on holiday - I'm a coffee drinker - need to reduce that though!!
Bought 24 cans of diet Pepsi a while back and most of it still in fridge, used to be a diet Coke drinker, but hardly touch it apart from restaurants.

Check out the coupon thread, possibly free Palmolive hand-wash, even paid to take it away - save the pdf coupon to re-use if any good to you.

Wow thanks Kirri for doing the research and sharing. No headache this morning but feel strange lol.

I will send the BBC article to OH. His mother has diabetes and his daughter from first marriage has pre-diabetes so I fret a bit about him guzzling say four juice boxes during a movie - that has to be nearly half a litre I'd guess.

Lip_Stick the Italian chicken thang sounds nice.

bramble1 I don't eat pork anymore, I find I get nice bit of fat but the chop itself is just tough and dry eww. OH chews away happily tho..

Lynsey - I lurve swede, we make swede chips mmm. Crossing my fingers for the bread !

Florenceem - maybe you could dog freezer of it's own ;) S/he is very spoilt, mine gets Winalot duck and rabbit from Poundland.

Waiting to unpack parcels today :) I lurve shopping by Internet !

Grotty day here urgh, def NSD. Going to nearby town to nose in ethnic shops Friday tho and will use Waitrose coupon for online shop.

Do you do those chips in a deep-fat fryer??
I love roast swede when making roast veg, a find a much better taste.

My fingers are crossed for the bread, quite exciting. lol (for me anyway).
First appearances look like it could be my best ever h/m bread.
