^ Amazing if you make a month out of the shops! I'm not sure I could do that but I find it inspiring! I am going to be more strict though for April..

I spent the afternoon in the sun again digging veg beds.

Used up quite a few things for dinner, had cheese omelette and potato wedges:
    Finished bottle of nut oil
    Finished smoked cheese
Finished last of the stored home grown potatoes (rice or pasta from now till the new ones have grown!)
    Finished the mayo

Welcome AAAB, you have a good motivation to do this before you OH gets back :)

Lip_Stick, did you see Warburtons are after taste testers and have a 50p coupon on their site?

Good evening all and good luck to VfM !!

Salad for lunch, ie celery, bell pepper, organic carrot chopped up, doused in slug of EV olive oil and juice of half a lemon, stirred plonked on baby leaves with a dollop of egg mayo and cheese and onion chilled sandwich fillers mixed together.

OH liked the NZ lamb burgers from Waitrose so much we're having them again tonight !

Have taken a couple of weeny special offer dabs from Morrisons out of freezer to defrost and pan-fry for lunch tomorrow and the last of the Sainsbury's turkey mince for dinner.

I followed low carb peanut butter search with fish fingers and surprisingly to me the own brands are often both less carby and cheaper ! Learned you really have to watch pack sizes on fish fingers as big ones aren't always cheaper.

Evening all. Hope all has had a good day.

Signed up for that Teachers Assistant course today. What the hell am I letting myself in for? Working with.... children!

Had a cuppa soup and apple for dinner, and ds and I had sausages, mash, carrots and onion rings for tea. Ds loved his onion rings, so much he pinched my last one. He's been a right misery guts the last couple of days, the light nights and clock change have messed about with his sleep pattern.

No plans for meals for tomorrow as it's just myself. Might do something with king prawns, a spicy rice type dish but don't have much in the way of veg. Realise I have no sweetcorn or frozen peas and nothing in the fridge except a lone potato and some spring onions.

Does anyone know what colour the dishes were in morrisons on offer? The bowls I have are a bit too thin, weetabix doesn't fit properly and the milk goes underneath it lol.

Kirri - will print out the coupon so I can get the bread thx!

BE - I had visions of you spreading the cheese on the dish like it was icing lol.

VfM4meplse - good luck with not visiting the supermarket! I know I couldn't last that long... can't even last a few days actually. :o

Mad woman :D Good luck with it, would love to know how you get on as it's something I'm considering myself.

Well I cooked falfel again & it was so much better this time round because I didn't overcook them :T:o Dad loved them, after initially turning his nose up at the word 'chickpeas'!

Mum got an approved foods order which came today. Normally I'd have added lots of stuff on for myself, even if I didn't need it, because it was a bargain but only thing I got this time was some soya yoghurts (much, much cheaper than the supermarkets) and sweet chilli sauce.

    Lip_Stick that sounds great !

Lyra my OH hated shop-bought falafel and hummus but once I started making them for him he loved them. I just wish chick peas were lower carb :(

What recipe did you use? I had a go the other week but they just split in the oil - I didn't drain the chikpeas as thoroughly as I should have - so I baked the mixture in the oven instead.

Morning all. Another nice day, we're on a roll!

Got some money today so I'm officially 'not skint!'. Yay! Wondering if I should go to House of Fraser and buy that reduced bedding set. hmmm

Still no idea about meals for today, may have to nip into Tesco to get some essentials. Ds' parade is tomorrow so the folks are going to take him to morrisons for his dinner so I'll tag along and buy a bit of shopping then too.

Lyra - just signed up for the first level. Been speaking to a friend who says there's not a lot to it. Sounds like it's a lot of team exercises. No real course work. It's 2 hours a week, for 10 weeks.

Edwardia - I'm not so sure of that - I must be mad!

morning all, it was shockingly hot yesterday, so hot i just threw spuds in the actifry and chops in the oven and walked off, we eat it because it needed used but didn't really feel like it :( today looks like it could be just as hot, have the kids assembley then a hospital appointment, just aswell i have my car back all be it with a list of small things that need fixed.

Well i'm not bring my freezer to my new house anymore so def no more adding to it, it will sit at my mums til i use it all up, then if she wants to she can use it.

I'm undecided if i should get some bread today or make more in the bread maker and avoid tesco altogether, either way i need milk but it's acually cheaper in local shops, will decide at the time i guess.

meals for today so far look like *subject to change lol*

breakfast-wheatbix,rasins and yogurt for the kids, toast for me
lunch- pasta salad or lo pizza- depends how hungry we are before we leave for the assembly
    dinner- sausages beans and mash

fancy some salad but i don't have any so thats not happening :(

I'm loving this hot weather! Puts a spring in your step all this sunshine. :D
My tomatoes are drinking it up on the windowsill.

Have decided not to have chips but to have bubble & squeak later as I have some cabbage that I'd like to use.
The others can have sausages with theirs and an egg. Think I'll just have the egg.

    Marmalade,toast and coffee for brekkies.
Shall have philli and crackers with salad for lunch and a yogurt and fruit for pud.

Considering that a huge amount of toast is eaten in this house, probably 70% of our bread consumption, I've started to do a 'bread run' once or twice a week to stock the freezer.
Older bread and particularly fresh baked bread makes my favourite toast.
The few leftovers that are beyond toast are popped out for the birds, Lynsey style. ;)
Its nice to have a stock of breadcrumbs in the freezers for recipes, too. :D

Are there any of the Wright bread mixes that are 'must haves?' If its getting colder over the weekend then some HM bread is in order with HM soups.

I'd love a masterclass in falafel making. :D

The falafel I got were a packet mix :o from approved foods, so no recipe as such. Didn't realise they were high in carbs Edwardia, will bear that in mind. Not on a low carb diet myself but obviously not good to have too many.

I was wondering about the Wrights bread mix as well cheerfulness4. Family weren't keen on the parmesan and tomato one but the mixed grain loaf was nice.

Got some chicken out of the freezer for chicken & pepper fajitas. Got some salsa to use up, so that'll do nicely.

Not food related but if you use stamps: bulk by now! They're going up at the end of April
