    Evening all

Got a horrible banging headache. Probably due to the stress... of making the damn Easter bonnet lol. Finally finished the thing tho yay!

Had finest crepes for tea which I picked up from tesco, with asparagus.

BE - Don't blame you for being excited about your new bed arriving. I got a new one last year after my old one was giving me severe back ache. The new one is heavenly. Didn't go for memory foam tho as I've heard it can get a bit warm and I love cool material in bed. You'll have to let me know what you think of it.

Edwardia - Won't bother with the crab meat in them then, will save it for a seafood fried rice dish or something.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Lovely sunny day here again. So enjoying waking up to blue skies and sunshine!

Didn't get to use any Wrights vouchers myself but do agree with someone that was a little irked by Wrights comments to the media. They have to take some responsibility for their own mistake. Others had no idea it was only for fundraising. Was it on the blurb on the voucher page then?

Established company like that has to accept their part in the shambles, not just blame public for greediness. Why put such a long date on it too? Did the event go on throughtout the year?

I'm assuming the 30p off coupons drifting around are just for the public to use? Confused now.

Fancied making cheese and onion pasties for tea tonight as I have loads of tatties and loads of puff pastry in the freezer. (Bought latter from Asda less than half price at end of year).:D

Quite like the idea the Baker Bros did of using pickled onions in them. Have 4 jars in the pantry somehow. :p
DS doesn't like cheese and onion pasties so I was wondering if I could do a baked bean and cheese one. Does that sound horrible? :undecided

Toast, marmalade and coffee for brekkies.
Sweet/sour mug shot for lunch with some fruit.

Have to confess I love the s/s mugshots. Never imagined I'd like that type of thing as I loathe pot noodles type things but I love, love, love these. Bought for DS and now nick!

baked bean and cheese pasties sound lovely :)
bit nippy here today and foggy hopefully it will warm up soon.

we got a new bed about 6 months ago, we bought it from one on my hubbys customers who maked beds and matresses, he advised us against memory foam, he said that adults really need support, so our matress has a memory foam topper built into it, the kids matresses are memory foam, we got ds3 a new bed to match the twins beds for our new house, complete with memory foam matress for just £210 :) there lovely beds and so well made, it's all about who you know isn't it :p

wasn't any good bread whoopsies yesterday so i bought a full price loaf, whoever did the whoospies yesterday weren't very nice everything only had about 30p off i went at half 4 and there was loads of whoospies i've never seen there be so many at that time, it would have been worth a visit last night when it all went down for less but i didn't have the freezer space and really it's not worth the drive for a few loaves of bread, spent £6 which is really good considering i got cheese, bread and 4 litres of milk.

dinners spag bol from the freezer, gonna slice up soem leeks and red onion to freezer in abit because i forgot to get soome philly to make pie filling but i'm not going back for any, could make my own white sauce but hubby prefers it this was and the value ones only 50p so still a nice cheap meal :) not sure about lunch yet, possible sandwichs

Mm, I feel annoyed they haven't just said they made a mistake. On the page, it was a coupon & a recipe, nothing about charity

Agree with the comments re:beds :T Makes such a difference to a good nights sleep.

Should be a NSD day today, got a lot to be getting on with & got a late shift so will be too tired by the time I'm finished to entertain food shopping.

Weetabix for breakfast, not sure about lunch & pork stir fry for dinner.

    Morning guys.

been off for weeks has internet problems.

    hope everyones doing ok.

well here we truly are living off freezer and cupboards right now

with exception of bread, milk , fruit and other fresh bits.

we also picked up a few reductions on spar.

havent done lidls, aldis in weeks so maybe missed out on few deals but trying to spend less.

mon- we had reduced chicken and because we had white wine as hubbys leaving pressie and parmasan made chicken rissotto from jaimies italian book.

tue-we had frozen salmon with frozen veg mix and potatoes.

last night did homemade pizza -recipie sort of from jaimies italian book.

had loads bread flour as stocked up when on offer in lidls.

eldest had freind over for tea.

so premade the dough-always flipping messy but not hard and makes about 5-6pizzas so good value.

did something bit sneaky for kids and hubby as they equally as fussy.
cooked frozen carrot, cauli, brocollo, leeks, peas and sweetcorn in one bit bowl in microwave then pureed added to pan with 2cartons passatta, dried value herbs, salt and pepper and made a very healthy tomato base.
we then added grated chedder, mozzarella, chopped ham and chopped tinned pinnaple.

tonight hubbys doing a night shift so having reduced steaks from spar with oven chips and frozen peas.

me and kids having reduced chicken from spar with potatoes, veg, stuffing and frozen yorkie puds and last of instant gravy.

have some left over veg and tomato sauce to add to pasta tommorow.

The very large shop we did at farmfoods has paid off although we did spend £125 got £12.50 off due to coupons.

we had reached botto of frezer apart from 20bags plums still need to do something with-might try a plum and apple crumble as have icecream.
went mad on stocking up on frozen veg.

people who say frozen foods rubbish have plenty of freinds and family who when i mention farmfoods seem to think we live off crap annoys hell out of me.

They cheapest for milk as 2 4pints for £1.80.

yes we buy some oven chips/wedges-healthier than fried.
the kids have chicken nuggets or fishfingers once a week as a treat.
I try to add frozen veg with nearly every meal.

    can do cauli/broccoli bake.
we get plain frozen fish cod fillets .
we get salmon steaks 4 in a pack-3packs for 10quid for 12fillets so less than £1 per fillet combined with potatoes , fropzen veg or salad totally healthy.
Going to do a fish pie next week.

got reduced eggs in spar 37p for 6 out date 2md so doing huge batch of cakes as 2weeks after big shop the family ate all the nice biscuits.
got oats and golden syrup so may try giving twinks another go.

feel confident can last out until 15th but thats just hols pay. hubby starts new job and gets paid on 28th so could be a hard month so trying to be cautious with food and not overbuy but on lookout for bargains.

need to hit co-op on a sunday.
and go get some fruit and veg from lids.

    but thats about it.

looking at news think need to start making my own pastys now too!
actually do lovley pasty recipie from leftover roast chicken.

maybe once get to target weight can maybe start my pasty eating again!

babys 1st birthday next week trying to decide on what to do?
small bbq or smal tea party depends on weather and which is cheaper.

might do some mini quiches tonight as they keep for days in tin in fridge and ideal for lunchboxes.Could do picnic in park sat if weather stays nice but forcast not too hopeful.

On completly random note is anyone stockpiling food yet incase fuel crisis happens thinking should build up my big bread stockpile and maybe some milk and keep well stocked on cheese/butter ect.

No way, dried foods included, I've got enough to keep me going for at least 6 months and have set myself the challenge of only buying fruit from the stall until the beginning of May - no supermarket shopping! The freezer is full of homemade dishes, and I've still got mountains of Weetabix, Oat-so-Simple (exp 2006 I believe :D) and baked beans to get through.

The police have advised petrol stations in Dorset to close, I heard on news. Of course th s****markets will use the non-fuel shortage as an excuse to put prices up.

Morrisons dab from freezer last night excellent, can't say same for tough fresh sliced runner beans from Tesco Express :(

Very little baby leaf salad left so combined 1 pot cheese and onion filler from Tesco with 2 dessertspoons Hellmann's mayo and added in pine nuts and sesame seeds from cupboard, 1 finely chopped gherkin, 1 finely chopped stick celery, 1 finely chopped green bell pepper, pinch of zaa'tar (Oxfam Ethical Collection stuff) from cupboard, and folded in the baby leaves.

Dinner is Sainsbury's turkey mince from freezer (next Christmas not buying so much of it !) and I've got passata, 1 leek, 1 aubergine, cheese so it could be turkey stuffed aubergine with a cheese sauce maybe.

Really low on veg except huge amount of organic carrots from Lidl..

hi gailey.. Iceland does reasonably priced party food but I suspect BBQ could be cheaper if you get large pack cheap burgers and make a load of salads but yep doesn't everything in the UK depend on The Weather ?

Interesting point re supermarkets and stocking up, the only thing I really need to keep buying is the fresh veg, more so for the pets than me, so this could get inconvenient if stocks run low but I can't pre-buy it as it won't last anyway. I have a few leaves growing on the allotment though if things get bad. For myself, I have plenty of stuff in, even if it's not quite what I want..

Just been out this morning and I did need to get petrol but they are queueing out onto the dual carriageway here and that is getting quite dangerous so I didn't bother waiting, will try again in a day or two.

Not sure what good it will do the police saying about shutting the petrol stations though ^ everyone is getting in a panic already and will do so till they have some..

I started the day with a food parcel from the English butcher (ordered and paid for three weeks ago ...), so was able to enjoy proper bacon, real sausage and a couple of organic eggs for a very indulgent breakfast. Also deliverred 1.5kg of cheddar, chesire and red leicester. All to be put into the freezer for slow consumption (the price would shock you). A nice big mug of Devon tea.

    No lunch (surprisingly lol).

Chicken for tea, sprinkled with piri piri seasoning (that stuff is HOT!!! as I discovered yesterday) and random veg lurking in the freezer.

You all sound so on top of things. I haven't eaten bread for about 10 days now, just because I ran out, can't get to the shops and can't be bothered to make any. Perhaps the AF Morrisons ciabatta mix tonight? I made it once before and it turned out really well.
