I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

Hi all
Just nipped into town, managed to get the '100 things to do with little children on a journey' pack from Waterstones. Had to pay full price though at £5.99. Annoying that it's less than half price on Amazon with free delivery! Thanks tracey12 though for pointing me in the direction of it.
Nipped to Tesco and bought some makeup remover pads and some more munchies for the trip, as I've scoffed some of what I bought.
Sat down with a cuppa now, was gagging for it.
Sofiaki - was only in Paris for a few days and yep did all the touristy bits but I was on my own so didn't want to venture off the beaten path... especially after an old man tried dragging me down an alley  Loved Nostradamus Cathedral, although the steps to the top were a killer!
Lyra - that £10 voucher is really good. What's valued opinions? Is it to do with Unilever?
Lynsey - yep there's a size limit, think it's so it's easy to get bag in and out. The suitcase I was gunna use was over it by an inch or two. Have another one but it's not as nice looking lol so now have to transfer everything. There's no way I can take 2 small suitcases as I have a pram, a rucksack for hand luggage and ds' case for hand luggage to take too.
cheerfulness4 - need to update my inventory, not been as good as I should at amending the list. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
No it's just a survey site, sign up & they send you surveys: http://valuedopinions.co.uk

For some reason I went through a time of not getting any/not qualifying for them but recently have had lots. It's worth doing, I think. I do find it a bit boring sometimes but it's lovely when that voucher comes through!0 -
Sofiaki - I latched (wrongly) onto the Sofia part (Bulgaria) - if your username had been Pariski, I might have got your location right.

I would like to visit France, never been for years and years. Usually do Spain, Portugal, Greece and the Greek Islands and Cyprus.
Capital cities?? I enjoyed both Prague and Barcelona and Amsterdam to a slightly lesser degree. Most of what I learned and know about Paris is what was learnt at school. lol
I hear you Lynsey. Never thought of that connection.
I'd stick with Spain and Greece, much nicer people. So much more chilled. Bit of a sweeping generalisation, but there you go :-)Sofiaki - was only in Paris for a few days and yep did all the touristy bits but I was on my own so didn't want to venture off the beaten path... especially after an old man tried dragging me down an alley  Loved Nostradamus Cathedral, although the steps to the top were a killer!
Dragged down an alley? Blimey, whereabouts were you hanging out? That'd put anyone off. Had to laugh at Nostradamus Cathedral, it's Notre Dame, which means Our Lady. Don't think there's any connection to Nostradamus. Sounds similar though. I've never been up there. Blimey, you're not travelling light are you LipStick?
I think I'll sign up to valuedopinions too. I'm trying to find ways of saving my mom some dosh, so every little would help. I printed and sent her some of those Dettol handwash coupons and various other bits I found. She was thrilled.
Off to have a lurk around some of the coupon links, even though I find them very confusing sometimes, particularly when links don't work.0 -
Morning all, not updated for a few days.
Lipstick, sounds like you are not exactly travelling light!!
Lynsey - let me know if you spot any seed bargains if you do decide to get some, I am low on pumpkin and sunflower, have loads of linseed though, use all 3 in bread. I put them in the dough, tried poppy and sesame on top but never seem to stick.
Sofiaki - welcome
have been all over but not to Paris yet, love France though, always thought I might move there one day..
I've not exactly been using from my freezer/cupboards much at all, been quite bad, eating fresh from farmer's markets, have loads of eggs and veg in.
All I've managed to use up in the last week is to finish one bag of pasta, and a handful of walnuts in shells from Christmas (used on coffee cupcakes). I've also just stocked up on Quorn fillets as they are finally
on offer in Morries for £1! The latest Morries mag (Easter version) is out today if anyone wants it, it usually runs out of stock within a day or so in my local store. 0 -
Thanks Lyra, will look it up. I use newvista. Had a few £50 cheques over the years. Wondering if I should invent a baby so I'll get more surveys lol
ssshhhh Sofiaki, they might never have known I'd got the name wrong!
I was somewhere north of the cathedral when that 'event' happened. Was still in a touristy area, although I noticed there was a square with a lot of alchies too lol. I used to walk everywhere, didn't dare use the metro.
Kirri... there you go, you don't come on here and you get into bad ways tut tut.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Ahh all this talk of paris makes me feel romantic.
we honeymooned there and got very lost i just about got by with my french from school hubby was of course useless as he did german.
Still chuckle at the 8 english people at trains station near airport everything was in french and now one knew which metro train to get on abnd was relying on me only got a c at french gcse.
We went through some deprived areas on way in then got off stop now where near hotel notre dame we were meant to have veiw eiffel tower could see the tip.
Paris was very pricey. we used to get lunch from bakery and eat in hotel rooms. also had some drinks from mini bar and replaced with identical ones from supermarket. Dident see many food markets hubby loved the fact they bring fags to your table with meal!
Thing that strikes me when go most places in europe is uk truly is a an island we have such different eating habits to uk.
very hard to get chocolate and biscuits very pricey.
the crisps seem to come in monster size bags dont think i saw multipacks in greece.Their supermarkets in urban areas always seem really small and hardly any convineinace/frozen or readymeals like here.
The hypermarkets in spain seemed similar to here but the butchery counter in french hypermarket so huge with live crabs .
My 1st trip to france was vegetarian and they thourght that was odd.
My pet hate on holidays in europe is cafes selling crap british food like english breckfast and chips and people not discovering the real restaurants of the country they visit.Watched man in costas other week and all the ex pats were shopping in iceland!
Think jaimie oliver said as percentage of income british people spend less of their income on food that europeans.
We also have big obesity problem, got diet book french women dont get fat and the french do have more restrained eating habits and guess in paris a lot of exercise!
Omg digressed slightly.
talking of diets went to sw and lost 5 1/2lb.
she said what did you do different .
its the week before payday diet.
I never thourght we see botton of freezer or get through all the stupid amount of frozen veg from farmfoods brought in november.
last of meat stash defrosting in freezer.
we have bread but we low on stash.
we have coffee and sugar.rice and pasta.
fruits running low.
we have crips
no biscuits, chocolate or icecream
no eggs to make cakes but might attempt flapjacks.
doing onion soup for lunch.
meatballs and spagetti with parmasan and garlic bread for tea.
however tommorow will be an inventive challange!
this week going to do farmfoods shop and approved foods.
next week lilds and mr m
then maybe £50 waitrose too.
will keep hitting spar and co-op for reductions
hubbys moving jobs so no longer near aldis but think they building one quite close to me so exited about that, think need to get out more!
Hope everyones ok.
gutted missed lidls weekend deals but hubby was working and double has punture and it was miles away.
mince always seems to come on every 3months anyway.pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:

Hope they keep your lo entertained. Remember to take a cloth so you can wipe cards clean as sometimes ink takes a while to dry. Pity you had to pay full price for them

Dentist never asked for money today.............
...............he'll want it next time though!!!
Pie and wedgers in oven now, nice and easy.
I need to use stuff out of the freezer and even though not buying much, the cheap stuff fills it up quicker than it can be used!!
NSD so far and will be out almost every day from tomorrow for a few days so little will be used.
If it's meatballs on offer or chicken breasts this weekend at Lidl, I'll cry.
Did pop into B&M's, but no cheap crisps I fancied and just walked away.................how's that for control.

No lunch as back in work and no time
Ham & egg on toast for dinner, yum yum
I've gone through my money again and things are still very tight but a little more than I thought. I kept the £5wys for morrisons from the sun on sunday and also recieved £15 vouchers for morrisons from a complaint today, sooo do I do a £4o shop for less than £20 (I'll be using other coupons also) or not????
Seems like a good time to stock up on meat & fish but this week I've realised I do actually have control and there is no need to spend so much, what would you do??
Lipstick - did you know u can hire prams at Disney??
Lyndsey - have you checked mission control? Not sure if you were awarded any prizes but I was and they have all now switched from processing to redeemed!! Hoping they arrive soon it's £110 l2s vouchers and 2 household and beauty hampers.... fingers crossed
