Bless - but it's one of those conditions that is best suffered as a child rather than an adult. Have you considered having a chicken pox party? ;) Seriously though, calamine aqueous cream will help with the itchy spots.

Lol, I did exactly the same thing when I saw Tampax Compacts (32s) at the 99p shop several years ago, I cleared the shelf and by my calculation still have a 6 month supply left :D.

I was out late yesterday evening and dashed into Asda on the way home for some 1L buckets of yoghurt before catching the last tube back....shelves were disappointingly empty so I took the last 2, and also bought Kingsmill Really Seeded Little Big Loaf (2 for £1) for the freezer. Also bought a whoopsied hot cross bun crown for 10p...had one this morning and was really disappointed by it. It was very bready, hardly any vine fruits, no peel, little spice and barely sweet...not much more than a teacake really. Not sure what to do with the rest as they're not at all enjoyable and I'm not prepared to waste any ingredients turning them into anything edible....feed the ducks maybe?

How about using the bun to make a bread and butter pudding type thing. Jamie Oliver used to do one using hot cross buns so can't see why you couldn't do it with the bun crown.

Well done, hope they go well.
Tesco ones are nice and 50p a pack (2 packs of 6 for £1), saves me the work, but wouldn't mind a try.
I love fruity teacakes, but hate bland ones, so making your own with a decent recipe would give options.
Anyone made the teacake/hot cross bun dough in a bread-maker??

I knew that would be suggested - but I must be the only soul on the planet that doesn't like B&B pudding. Complete waste of good ingredients IMO, not to mention calories . Am under strict instructions to get back to my svelte self again, I've got the best part of a stone to shift.

    Bin it is :(.

Got loads of Oral B toothpaste, 24p each with coupon!
Got quite a few wipes also for free and 14p per pack.
Fairy Liquid to last for ages and some Flash cleaners and sprays.....for free.

Still got some Sainsbury's coupons left, but more expensive there and unless the prices drop, the coupons will not get used.

The Loreal £2 coupon ends today and Asda have stuff at £2.........so again free.

EDIT: actually, Tesco offers may end today, thought it was Sunday, but maybe 5th?? The Lenor £1.68 ended yesterday (4th). lol

    Lynsey

Been getting the toothpaste for 24p and the Always 2 for 20p, a few lenors for 68p but had gone up last night and mine doesn't stock the 500ml £1 ones. Its all 750ml for £1.99. :(

Got a few fairys so will see if I can get some of the other things you mentioned as spring cleaning is in earnest now. :D

Wipes? Am I missing something here?

Knowing my luck, I'll be a bottle or two short. :rotfl:

Well my parents are in their 80's and doing just fine and with all that running round the supermarkets you should be super fit! I'd factor in a fe w extras. ;)

Kirri - my bread buns were slow to rise the other day so I put them in a very low setting in the oven for 15 mins until they doubled.
Took them out, blasted the oven up and put back in.

    Lynsey

I pop mine in my top oven when I'm cooking in the bottom oven. The heat from below rises them smashing.

Delia Smith said that if you were making pizza dough the traditional way (not breadmaker) then cover with cling and give short bursts in the microwave of 30 secs a time until double the size to stop the waiting around.
    Was brilliant!

Ooh somehow never thought wipes with those coupons. Good idea!
Might even splash the cash and have one of each for the extra 14p. :D

    thanks for that. ;)

Today I'm having some reduced cumberland sausages for lunch with egg and tomatoes and tonight the others will have meatballs (gifted :D) with some Jamie Oliver pasta sauce (19p) and pasta.

Must check my pasta levels. Stocks are beginning to go down here but I think pastas ok for now. Rice is another thing.

Bramble - brilliant about the tax rebate. A lovely feeling isn't it?!
We had that some years ago for a few thousand and it saved our bacon as the car was on its last legs.

    Morning all

Had a small spend of £10.46 today. £2.08 in Home Bargains, on tooth paste for ds and dried apricots. Went into poundstretchers and bought some mini bags of choc hobnobs/choc cookies for lunch box and trip. 69p for a pack of 6 packets.

Then went to Asda, bought 2 jars of Sharwoods sweet and sour, reduced to £1 from £1.68, small tangerines, reduced carrots, broccoli, pack of mange tout and baby corn, and philly for £1... damnit forgot to use my coupon.. again!!!! ARGH!

Plumped for having sweet and sour sauce and rice with the pork kebabs tonight and will add mange tout, red pepper and baby corn.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I use the organic ones and they are so rarely on offer I bought LOADS must have been in 2010 in cases of them, not just boxes, was looking at them the other day, still a huge pile stashed under the kitchen sink still and beginning to think I hope I don't hit the menopause early before I use them all!

Try the recipe I posted, though quite a lot of pages back now somewhere! It was from a breadmaker book. It's the one I use for fruit bread but it's actually a teacake recipe, I use it more for loaves as it was quicker when I was working to stick them in the toaster than under the grill. It's a really easy recipe and perfect results, 8 large teacakes or 2 x 1lb loaf tins. Quite fancy some myself now for afternoon tea!!

If you want hot cross buns it's just a richer dough though, think it mainly has more milk in? Have only made them a few times but home made still much better than shop. It's a bit more faffing doing the cross and glazing them too, I might do some for Easter.

Breakfast - had lovely yoghurt from my milkman delivery.
Lunch - probably just a sandwich - fancy some crisps but haven't got any..
Dinner - got to use the swede up really with veg sausages I guess though I really would prefer pasta tonight
