I've never tried that! I'd be too nervous in case I overdid it and killed the yeast!

Loads of ovens allow you to prove the dough now, the bakers use proving ovens, same thing basically but more expensive.

Just made a pasta bake with the sausages (rolled into balls) and cheated by using a jar of Dallaglio sauce - 10 minutes to go and add some cheese for last 10 minutes. Cheap easy meal and tasty.

gailey - I hate chicken pox, wish your little one well. Best to get it over with I suppose!

Need dog food, otherwise would have had a NSD today! Luckily pup is happy to eat what ever, his current fave is Hi-Life which is on 25% off in waitrose, so will pop in after work to get some, and hopefully some reduced bread.

What temp did you use? Even if my kitchen is too warm in the summer I've not had such a good result so I tend to stick with what works now lol.

Btw, you mentioned KK chunky earlier, they had a big pile at the entrance to Morries today on offer, if you get tempted that is ;)

I just spent about £10, hate spending that much in one go now! Still no Quorn offers, had to pay full price again
  • We've had some of the ys fillet from the freezer tonight with ys asparagus and coupon bought frozen chips. Got tempted by some seriously marked down salami in sainsbugs today so have more than enough of that and chorizo now.
Lyndsey - I use sausages as a cheap way of making meatballs often.
Bramble - that sounds great, wish they would send my OH one.:p
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

Hi all. Another NSD for me, that's two in a row, that's got to be some kind of record.

Had mozzarella and tomato quiche, with baked beans, peas and chips. Was quite nice. Ds was the one who wanted both beans and peas lol. For dinner I had heinz veg soup, so feel I'm needing something meaty tomorrow.

I've got some pork and red pepper kebabs out to defrost but no idea what to serve them with. Thinking either pasta and something tomatoey, or rice and a sweet and sour sauce, but I'd have to buy that.

Kirri - the bread maker has two small bread pans instead of one large one then I guess. Oh and the KK chunky, they wasn't the peanut ones were they?

Lynsey - The only woman who has more fabric conditioner than tesco. :D

gailey - hope your lo doesn't suffer too much.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Katskorner... how many meals do you think you have in your freezer? When I started the freezer challenge it was around 30 family meals and i saved myself a fortune doing this. Am off to try to get some whoopsies to fill an empty shelf of it later.
    :)
erm about 500 at a guess.... very scary when i think about it!
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Kirri - my lowest setting says 50 degrees, but I set it half-way between 0 and 50, not sure if it's less than 50 though??
My manual say only 5 minutes to prove, I'm sure I did a bit more though.

Interested in chunky KitKats?? If they are back to £1 for a 5 pack I would be. lol
    How much were they??

    NSD :j - 2 in a row and hoping for a 3rd tomorrow.

Lip_Stick - Tesco did used to have more Lenor than me though a couple of weeks ago!! :D

blackandwhitebunny - sausages work well when making meatballs in pasta. These were decent quality sausages though and pretty expensive.................I'm sure these ones were 25p per pack, not those 15p ones!! lol

I haven't got a clue what's for any meals tomorrow, maybe fish of some sort?? One pack of diced chicken breasts still in fridge, so another option there. Perhaps get hubby to make his curry and use the rest of chicken for fried rice or stir fry??

Ta, I'll have a read up on it.

I didn't look that close, just saw the piles but may have been £1.43 ish??

I've never seen one like that, could be handy but then you'd have to measure it all out twice?
I think they were just normal but that was just from a distance!

Didn't cook tonight - just did a sausage sandwich in the end.

Ended up with OH having Gammon, egg and chips for dinner, I had a WW ready meal. Not sure what we will have tonight, Beef stir fry possibly, or there is some mince that needs using up.

Lunches are made too, so should be in for a NSD here!

Will take a trip to lidl this weekend, and stock up on the offers, OH isn't a great fan of mince, but we do like HM burgers, so will get some packs in anticipation of the summer!

    Morning.

    Kirri - those KitKats are £1.59 for 8 - 20p each.
I got some from Sainsburys last year - 9 for £1!!
I might get some for a treat if passing tomorrow instead of a cream cake!

Just settling for the chicken today, use that pack up.
Just took some hot cross buns out and that will be breakfast, possibly do the Jamie Oliver tip and bake with jam and custard (just 2 buns, 1 each).

Morries have 50p fruit and veg, I posted HERE.

It was cold here this morning, but the sun has just popped his head out.............my tomato plants on the window sill will be pleased.
