Yes, though maybe a drier type of 'cake' but think similar sort of make up - I will be giving some to take back to my parents though as I could never eat it all!

I normally make cheese borek with filo but as I don't have any feta and I do have the ingredients for the cake I will have to do that instead!

mmmm that's sounds lush kirra. You could always send some to me too, wouldn't want you stuffing yourself silly now. ;)

I've got some short crust and puff pastry in but think I'll do something savoury. I've noticed ds isn't keen on puddings unless it's in the form of biscuits or yoghurts and as much as I'd like to eat the puddings myself, I can't! I guess the only thing I can make with the short crust is a pie or flan.

    Well done littlewillow.
Lots suffering still with illnesses, get well soon. This bug thing is horrible, I've still got it hanging a little (little phlegm and bad head yesterday and this morning).
Lip_Stick - you might be right about your dreams being connected with your trip.
Kirri, Morries stores do differ regarding "whoopsies". I'm spoilt for choice with Morries stores and you need to know each store for it's traits - I'm convinced it's down to each section manager/duty manager on the day.
The Morries I generally use can be rubbish, well not too good during the week, but late on a Saturday is pretty good. Those free puddings were a joke, had one yesterday - glad they were free!!

Just messing today, but stir fry sometime. I took one of the small monkfish tails out last might and I'm going to marinate in the garlic oil and stir fry that. Stir fry with garlic monkfish and jumbo prawns.
Trying not to go out today, well maybe later and the bits I need can wait until tomorrow. Opened my last tin of Roses and have hammered them - can't wait to see the back of them. Still quite a few packs of chocolate biscuits from Xmas to get rid of (well over-bought).

I feel so much better today!

Have had 4 NSDs in a row now too!

That chicken thing is still lurking in the fridge, need to use it to night or it's wasted, will do some HM potato wedges with it i think.

Not much else to report, still looking good for me getting through till Friday with out doing any shopping. Then it all depends on this week's lidl offers!!

Just had some cheese on toast for breakfast - Leerdammer.
Anyone looking for a cheese offer, this cheese is only £1 in Sainsbury's until 14/02.
    Leerdammer Slices (8 per pack - 200g) - £1.

I'll get a few more packs at the weekend or next week.

    4 x NSD's in a row is very, very impressive bramble1 - well done. :T

  • Hi all, thought I would finally join in, I've been reading this thread for ages and love seeing what you're all eating, how creative you are with your ingredients and the amazing bargains you're all picking up! I'm extremely well stocked at the moment and really need to get the cupboards / freezer down!

For breakfast the children have had Little Stars Fromage Frais (they are currently mispriced in Tesco, 18 pots for £1.04 making them much cheaper than even the value range) topped with blueberries and served up with some toast (reduced loaf of seed bread from M&S last night 10p!) Husband had muesli and I'm having swiss cheese and ham with a hand full of blueberries.

Lunch will be spicy chicken salad for me and spaghetti bol for the toddler. Dinner tonight is singapore noodles with spicy chicken and prawns. Hope you all have a lovely day, blue skies and sunshine here but with a good layer of frost on the ground :)

    Morning all

Have decided to make quiche this week so went to Asda for some cooking bacon, also bought cheese, blue cheese, seasoning and coleslaw. Spent £6.61. Also bought milk at another shop and spent £1.24. Will probably make the quiche tomorrow or Thursday.

No breakkie for me today but ds had a half a banana, one of my home-made biscuits and some milk. Dinner for me will be a cuppa soup probably. Looks like I'm running out of those so will need to buy more.

Put £100 into my isa for my hol. Leaves me about £80 til Monday so hoping for money left over and the end of the week to put towards a washer.

Cherrypies - welcome to the thread. Singapore noodles sounds nice. I'm hoping to do spicy rice tomorrow since ds is with his dad! Nasi Goreng style. Might end up doing Pad Thai depending on what's easier lol.

  • Thanks lip_stick. Love Nasi goreng and pad thai, enjoy!
  • Hope everybody is feeling better today. The sun is out and it looks like a glorious day until you actually go outside and fall all over the place!

Welcome cherrypies. Singapore noodles is a favourite of mine :) lovely lovely

I have a tin of Princes Ham...I think its something that came in a "food package" from my Grandma bless her. I don't know what to do with it though, it is a large tin and I don't want to open it and waste it so I thought maybe make some spaghetti carbonara with some chunks of that in...any other ideas?

    Welcome cherrypies.

littlewillow - the tinned ham can be used to grill or fry to have in sandwiches, with eggs, cheese etc. Similar to Spam, which reminds me of a couple of freebie tins in the cupboard - nice in sandwiches once fried/grills. Also use the ham to top pizzas.
