Tiny weeny spent of £1.44 today! Reduced shortcrust pastry and fresh pineapple.
Dinner was a WW ready meal out the freezer, OH has gone to do market research so will be out all evening, so the frying steak i took out before work will be used tomorrow, the dog will get the chicken...a waste, but never mind, we obviously were never going to eat it.
I think I am going to have an omelette tomorrow as i have eggs that need using up. I'm trying to lose weight and failing miserably!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
Debt payments 2012 £433.270 -
NSD, but took a little look in Sainsbury's. Need a few things tomorrow, eggs etc, maybe some crisps if I go near a Home Bargains..........and they've got some in stock.
Kirri, the oil was not with the normal oils in my store, luckily I walked straight at them!
canspendnomore, the 1st 4 weeks were easy, clearing up the Xmas stuff, also used £5 Nectar points, so looks better than it should - still well pleased though. All uphill from now on though!!
2 empty freezer drawers would be a dream, it would be so much easier to organise things. Strange, but after we tried to persuade you NOT to buy a 3rd freezer, I've been looking on ebay myself for one.Just a small one to keep the stuff I want to use within 2 weeks. lol Trying hard not too buy one though!!
BTW, how is the couponing going?? Pretty quiet of late, but it will pick up.
Pork and apple sausages tomorrow with jacket pototoes, peas and sweetcorn. Not too sure of the rest??

Had a really bad day today!! My daughter has Autism and she has been having meltdowns galore all day...really stressful
Anyhoo,
Breakfast today was cereal, lunch was sandwiches using leftovers from a lovely boiling ham I got from the butchers at the weekend.
Dinner was chicken and ham pasta bake using the last of the ham, some chicken from freezer, pasta spirals, end of a bag of frozen petits pois, a can of campbells condensed chicken soup and some grated cheese.
Only spent £1.80 today, that was for milk.0 -
Evening all.
Decided on omelette for dinner instead of cuppa soup. Didn't want soup for two meals! I decided after ds had gone to bed, to make him a philly and mushroom pasta for his dinner at school tomorrow. Not sure how well that'll go down with him lol.
Apparently morries has philly at £1. Dad's picking me some up. Looking forward to the lighter and warmer afternoons then I can take ds to the large park and go to morries while I'm in the area. I love their mushroom pate and I'm missing it!
Getting a half price veg box tomorrow, hopefully it'll be ok value at that price. Wouldn't order a veg box normally! Will let you all know what you get so you can decide if it would save you money.
kraftykat, hope you and your daughter have a better day tomorrow. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

I hate illogical shop layouts and products not where they should be!
Morrisons have a new competition on the website to win a freezer and meals for a year, not that I should be encouraging anyone to stock up even more but worth a go!
Lipstick - did you order the veg box from a big company? I used to get them till I got the allotment, really liked the surprise element.
Interesting reading from everyone else, some inventive cooking going on here!!!
I'm sat here trying to finish the rest of the Christmas pistachios but I'm down to all the shells that are difficult to open right at the bottom so it's a bit hard going...0 -
Morning and thanks Kirri for the comp tip.
I'm not that lucky though. I did win the Lottery many years ago and put all the money in the bank and so far have never touched any of it.....
.....................I've still got that tenner!!!!
It's not really another freezer I need, just the space. A small bench-top freezer would just be handy, the type with two shelves. The real solution is to simply create the space!! I struggle badly though, but shouldn't as there are only two of us and we are not really big eaters.
I found a large (1.25kg) tin of grapefruit segments in the back of a cupboard that needs using, might try some this morning sprinkled with ginger powder.
Waiting to see the Lidl update later and if it's meatballs, my freezer spaces will be full again - I want 6 months supply at 74p per pack. I bought 2 packs from Aldi (99p), so 10 packs is the target. Next target is those chicken breasts, again 6 months supply wanted from Lidl's half-price weekend offers. Pork offers come up all the time and I've got plenty of pork.

Morning all
Today is a busy day cleaning and washing. At least if I'm busy I'll keep warm. More snow is on the way I hear, so hopefully I'll get some use out of the sledge, but I'm not that bothered if I don't lol.
Will have my cuppa soup and banana for dinner and something nice and spicy for tea.
Kirri I'm getting the veg box some time today. At Christmas Mam mixed the pistachios with some shelled nuts - nearly broke my blinking teeth! Wasn't impressed.
Lynsey are you sure you just need a table top freezer? That's a lot of stocking up you want to do!
Gailey fingers crossed for you that you don't run out of much more, and the family stop moaning lol. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
