    Vouchers are sold out!!
I got a little excited when I saw they were back on but of course was too good to be true. Can't believe I had to spend a good 5 mins making the case to b/f last night...and of course were sold out by the time he logged in.

It was allegedly -8 when I woke this morning, now climbed to -4....part of me doesn't want to leave the house, the other part wants to go out and buy loads of food and then stay in all weekend!! I will venture out to Lidl for oranges and Parazone, stock up from the fruit stall and then come to hibernate. Ah the excitement!!!

  • Bramble1 - my best wishes go out to you.

I have spent this morning procrastinating, I have written a list of everything in my cupboards and freezers and how many portions I have of each - then I re-wrote the list and put things in categories. I have never been one to plan meals in advance because when I come to it I never fancy what I've planned, but this way I can now look at these lists and plan from my cupboard. I have enough meals for goodness knows how long :) yay!

    I've been Money Tipped!

I have spent this morning procrastinating,

I've spent this afternoon trying to find out what procrastinating means. :D
I'm like you with meal planning though, always changing my mind!!

Been to Lidl, two Lidl's in fact as 1st one was out of frying steak!!
The other one was only a couple of miles away and they had about 10 packs left!! Bought 3 instead of intended 2, covers the extra petrol!!
£3.72 spent so far. Starting to snow a little, see how it develops.

Bit of an issue with the £15 M&S vouchers I see.
I was a bit worried as the ones I bought had my hubby's name on them as I used his card to pay, even though I used different names and email addresses?? Strange, hope it gets resolved quickly. As long as they are not cancelled, I don't mind waiting a day or two.

Lynsey, I think I'd have had more than 3 packs after driving to 2 Lidl's!
Edwardia, not sure I'd send the OH again with that result :rotfl:
Littlewillow, am doing much the same, planning daily ish from lists though I have a random list of meals to choose from for ideas

Snowing here now quite heavily :D Tempted to go for a walk in the snow tomorrow but I may end up spending at the farm shop if I do that..

Dinner today - needed something stodgy and warm so had allotment pink fir potato wedges and garlic mayo with a hm cheese and leek pasty - can't move now..

Really need to get using up more half used condiments and also the random jars of various world food pastes in the cupboard. Might do a satay tomorrow as I can borrow some of the pets' celery.

OH is only semi-trained Kirri but he tries hard :) He's cooking roasted sea bass with parsley and walnut pesto tonight, a Morrisons recipe from the website. The sea bass came out of the freezer to defrost on Thursday (new fridge = very cold) and was a 50% off special offer from Morrisons at £4 for two. The walnuts were leftover from Christmas (Lidl) so he sat cracking them this afternoon.

ETA: roasted sea bass with parsley and walnut pesto was absoballylutely fantastic. OH cooked it perfectly. If you have some special offer sea bass fillets lurking in freezer and left over walnuts all you need is parsley and could spread the pesto over the fillets like a crust. Both Aldi and ASDA have had sea bass fillets on offer before.

Lol. They are close to each other and I pass anyway on a Saturday.
TBH, the frying steak was not brilliant last time and neither was it this time!!
Pretty random, though to be fair not much left.
No way would I fry and eat it, but OK slow cooked.

Need the space for the possible meatballs next week. ;)
Checking the weather myself as I was planning of "robbing" Morries of some more bread in approx 1 hour. :D

Keep warm - could be a casserole/stew/soup week next week!!

I'm only 10 mins on foot from Morrisons but don't think I could face it in the dark lol even for bargains. Bet there are some though unless they were panic bought earlier. Have got soup on the to do list, roasted squash and lentil - I can't sit at my tiny kitchen table till I've cooked the pumpkins and squashes!! I need room in the freezer first though.

Lol @ Edwardia, he has potential with the cooking, not sure men will ever be quite as good as women though with the shopping :D Some of the Morrisons recipes are quite good, I like to get the mag but it seems to run out of copies if you don't get in the shop the day it's issued.
