Had corned beef stew last night- at least it was the right thing this time when it was defrosted, probably burgers for tea tonight and theres whoopsie mince in the freezer so will do something on Sunday for dimmer with that but it all depends on the weather as I'm not keen on dinners when its warm. Some tinned goods are 3 for 2 in Tesco on their lastest deal so picked up 3 times of corned beef for £2.96, which I didn't think was bad, DS2 loves corned beef pie so will probably pop back in and 'stock' up.0

I'm useless at this!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spent £1.17 last night in Sainsburys and got:
4 packs shortcrust pastry - 10p each
2 bags rooster potatoes - 10p each
3 packs Brussels pate - 19p each
Had pate toasted for a snack last night and froze 2 packs as well as the pastry. I would have froze 3 packs, but couldn't fit the 3rd one in. lol
Anyone got a spare freezer??
Sharon87, was that one of the small beef roasting joints?? I'm thinking of pot-roasting mine tomorrow.
Hot cross buns toasted for breakfast this morning and sausage and mash for tea.

Found some chopped up peppers, which I must have bought when they were in the reduced. Must had used some of them within a few days of buying them. Going to make a roast ratatouille tonight. I always cook too much of it (don't like leaving half an aubergine in the fridge as goes funny). Tomorrow, I will cook some lamb and mint kebabs (bought them a few weeks ago when all the BBQ stuff was £1) to serve with it.0

Made courgette lasagne today for dinner using fresh lasagne sheets I had frozen when they were 50p a pack in Asda. Unfortunately, my freezer is very full and I have had to slam the drawer shut a few times recently, so my lovely lasagne sheets are now very broken. Oh well, I have made a patchwork of them in the lasagne and it will all taste the same when cooked!:rotfl:0

Do you take items out of the boxes and freeze in shopping bags to gain space?0

Wow that's incredible! How did you do it, if you don't mind me asking?? Thanx in advance!0 -
Went to Asda this eve and failed in my quest. I bought some steak and kidney which I'll portion up, a couple of small pies, and a small joint of beef coated in teriyaki sauce, all at half price.
What is annoying is the other day I made chili, which I love with chips, thinking I had oven chips. Well I didn't have any, so I was gutted! I've no room really for a big bag full of chips either. The McCains Simply Gorgeous Chips were fab, and just the right size but the supermarkets have stopped selling them now.
Anyway, even though I've bought some new things for the freezer my plan is still to use up the old stuff. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0
