I went to Asda last night as DS needed a white tshirt and we didnn't have any, I ended up getting him 9-10 as they were £1.75 for a 2 pack but the prices on the front ranged from this to £2 and £2.25 the girl said it was because some were old stock and some were new!!!!!!!! bit bizarre really hence he got the 'old' stock, while I was there I got 2 bags sprouts, a cabbage, 4 apricots and 2 melons all for 10p each, such a bargain I couldn't resist, although we are eating out of freezers on this thread and we could do this for a while I still think we need to get these bargains otherwise if we do eat everything (by the end of the decade!!!!) we would have to go out and possibly end up paying full price for things - that by then will cost a fortune- hope that makes sense!!!!!!!0

They're the freshly baked baguettes, so I can't read how they'll poison me as they've no ingredients listed. I have just used the breadmaker and I'm surprised to say my loaf has turned out well for a first try, especially since I don't have the measuring cup.Florenceem wrote: »I think frozen peppers would defrost as a soggy lump.
The peppers I froze were fine in my paella. Couldn't tell the difference between fresh. I've no doubt they freeze ok. I was wondering about the value, if you get a decent amount in the packs or not. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

fresh frozen peppers are fine, but pre frozen ones do tend to go abit soggy it's odd as u would imagine there the same thing, i would still put frozen peppers in casaroles tho, you can get a bag of 4-5 value peppers for £1.25 now they are usually mostly orange or green and not so many red but i'm not that fussy lolDEC GC £463.67/£450

You wouldn't like living with me.....I am Mrs Mean. Hubby has not been on a diet....it is a change of lifestyle....2nd marriage.........don't want to lose the love of my life. We eat lots of fruit/vegetables and no ready made meals/take aways. We don't have a car so walk or use the bus....mostly walk.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I've found some Warburtons Squarish Wraps in the freezer. They are brilliant for pizza bases as about twice as thick as other wraps.
I will be still be buying these as they are classed as a bread product.
Making pizzas from these is great as it uses leftovers. So if you have a couple slices of ham, a couple of mushrooms and half a dozen cherry toms in the fridge. Have a box of grated cheese in the freezer - a variety of cheddars, cheshire and red leicester which I have bought in the reduced in the past. One of the cheeses in there is a TTD Cheddar which was £3.50 and purchased for 25p. Cook in the oven for 10 mins on 180c. The wraps have a very similar texture to the thin and crispy bases.
The wraps are £1.45 for 6.0 -
So sorry, so very sorry. Had a great week and spent less than £4, but I've fallen badly today and it's all Sainsburys fault!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely loads of meat reductions so I bought quite a bit.
Lots of packs pork chops, diced pork and pork steaks, packs lamb mince, beef roasting joint, chantenay carrots, cauli, jersey royals, hot cross buns and all for less than a tenner. :money:
I got lucky as they were reduced very, very early this time and the shop was empty................so was the reduced meat shelf after I helped myself.
Still spent less than £20 all week, since and including last Sunday anyway.
I'm on a £100 July grocery challenge now, so the latest stash should help, well over a weeks meat there.
Just really need milk and bread stuff for the next week and some veg and fruit...............but no more meat.
Sad after reducing my freezers quite a bit, but back to square one again.
Hope you lot have more willpower.
PS: The soggy bread has nearly all gone and so has the french stick, the starlings have helped out and to thank them I got them a pack of 6 hot dog buns for only 10p - they fit nicely in the fat-ball feeder and stops the magpies from getting them.
