In to freezer - 8 individual meat pies and 4 portions of pie + tub of LO pie filling.
Out of freezer - plain flour + rhubarb + plums.
Last night we had HM meat pie + roast potatoes + cabbage, carrots + gravy.
I used 15 ozs pastry - made a medium pie and 8 individual ones - so 14 portions. I sprinkled garlic granules on the pie tops. Left over pastry made 2 garlic twists.

Needed a quick easy meal tonight. We had HM Spinach Quiche + potatoes + barbecue baked beans and the garlic twists I made. Also had one of DD's home grown tomatoes.

  • Hey guy's

Hope you all took advantage of the twix glitch.

Been cooking for my grandma today, so no food in or out.

Flo your pies look great and I now want my own, dp you think I could get away with using ready made short crust in a muffin tin? Is that how you did yours? I know you prob made your own pastry though.

I did make the pastry and used a muffin tin. Shop pastry would work.

Florenceem:- your pies look great. I'm all for batch cooling and freezing, saves time in the long run. I tend to use a lot of 'gluts' from the garden, working my way through crab apples at the moment.

Out:- lamb neck, only got enough to make one Lancashire hotpot and partly cooked pudding rice - just need to finish it, DH likes jam on the top but I've run out so will make do with stewed blackberries and sugar - he probably wont notice the difference.

In:- 2 x YS trout fillets and YS loaves of bread

need to go and have a look at my meal plan for the week to see if I can make better use of the trout instead of something else.

Where is lipstick? Not seen her on here for ages, I quite enjoyed her posts about her fs and ex lol.

Was wondering the same! Maybe they are all living happily ever after after the holiday :D

Good to see you back after your food poisoning!

Flo - LOVE the look of those mini pies! May have a go myself if I can think of a suitable veggie pie filling (maybe a puy lentil/winter veg or mushroom or something).

I got a bit overwhelmed with food from both the allotment and Ocado orders and having flu I wasn't cooking so much. Getting things back under control now - mostly been having tofu stir fries this week to use lots of veg. Nothing used up except 1 lot of rice but had already bought a replacement packet.

Hope you are feeling better now. I noticed you had gone a bit quiet these last few days
