  • I have a brand spanking new mattress on my bed at home. Bought after the BF kept wingeing about how he slept badly when he came to mine blah blah blah cause my old mattress had more springs that had gone than were still in place. ;)

I really really miss that old lumpy mattress. It had more give in it! :D

    Up first again?

Pesky commercial bin men. How dare they clean up after Friday nights in town?

I have the laptop and 3 cats eating their breakfast 2 hours early because they were staaaaaaarrrrrrrving to death when they realised I was up. Meh. Let's see who's feeling smug when they have to wait 14 hours until dinner.

I don't know how this works. Are we supposed to have a fairly chilled weekend? I am not going to because I am really...dare I say it...ENJOYING getting stuck into the house at the minute. I love this thread..I already had a list that said 'do 5 minutes gardening a day' and used to feel it made me weird...no more : ).

Yesterday I headed out to do my 5 minutes...and ended up mowing the lawn for the first time in my life! It was surprisingly satisfying.

I am going to keep working on yesterday's Flying list today, since I didn't get much of it done due to being extremely busy.

I am also going to go to Ikea. Since November, 2 of my kitchen unit doors have been mouldy and hanging off since we had some damp issues. My former perfectionist (and in denial about debt) self was hanging on, stressing out about them, wanting a new kitchen. My new self is going to by some fabric and make those old-fashioned curtains people used to have on their kitchen units, the ones that are fastened top and bottom. Am thinking it will look good, and hoping to get some funky cheap fabric from Ikea.

    Have a great day everyone.

    IKEA?

We live very near to an IKEA and learned long ago to wear cushioned trainers, have two cups of their superstrong coffee before we start wandering round like a reallife Escher painting (going to the restaurant also cuts off the show rooms and deposits us just past the agony that is the kids' section) and NEVER think you're just going to get one cheap little thing!!!!!!

The other thing I like about this thread (probably been mentioned before) is that it is honest about the amount of time it takes to keep an orderly house with family, pets etc. I used to think the fact it took me hours and hours meant I was inefficient or something! I think it's because I have a mum who doesn't really clean and I remember home as always staying nice...but we were older and wouldn't have dared make a mess anyway.

Haha Jojo, I know. I am going to get there when it opens and try to avoid that basement section. Although I could do with a steamer basket....AAARGH and so it begins!

    Morning!

I love going to IKEA, but i do make sure i have enough money first because i always end up buying tons. I have a list in my notebook that i keep adding to that is specifically the things i need from IKEA and then i go. Usually a couple of times a year. It's such a trek!!

Not much flying will be done i don't think. We are taking a trip to toys are us this afternoon to buy DD a dolls house with some money DH's Grandpa gave us. This morning i will just be pottering, maybe doing some photo editing. I have a monkey on my back in the shape of some wedding photos i need to get edited and sent to the couple.

Anyone wishing they were at Glastonbury??? Not me. Ha ha! Well, i would go if i could be 24 again and do it!! I love how people say "Glasto is better when it rains, people try harder." No it isn't!! I've been in the glorious sun and the lashing rain and it is FAR better when it's sunny. :rotfl:

Triker, glad your roof is holding out! We used to have to put pots and pans arranged on the floor of the bathroom when it rained and we lived at our old house. Not fun!

pigpen, i would love to be able to have honest words with my sister, but she is soooooo ultra sensitive about things i just couldn't. You must have a great relationship.

Valli, all this talk of selling OOD condoms makes me laugh. I recently sold a bag full of socks with holes in when i went through my sock drawer after the Christmas haul. Granted, they only fetched £1.04, but that's £1.04 i didn't have!! Going through the office yesterday i decided to sell last years cards & papercraft magazines from when i had a subscription. Not put them on yet though... Maybe today.

RachelS, i also like the honesty of how long things take. I also love that i feel no guilt or shame about leaving things because i haven't had time. The ladies are so encouraging. :)

    LameWolf, have a fabulous holiday!!

Right, leaving the lists for this week, but this weekend i hope to...

    Morning All

WM is on, TD is on and the washing I put on the line last night before I went to my parents' is still on the line wetter than when I put it out - I'm hoping it will dry at some point.

Going to do yet some more ironing - I'm determined to get it all out of the way this weekend.

    Okay HHI her I come!

    Have a good day all
