you have to take 30 or more at one time to do the slightest damage with paracetamol.. and hospitals dish out 4 times what it states on the box for OTC ones.. so 12 normal feeble paracetamol might just give you bit of a headache.

if the normal ones aren't working have you tried the ones with codeine as well?
no, thats not correct, sorry. For some people, just going over the 8 in 24 hours can cause toxicity problems requiring liver transplant. In hospital you will never get more than 8 (or 4 grammes) in 24 hours. You might get supplied will more to take home with you than what you can buy in the supermarket because the law says you can only buy 16 in one go as an unsupervised (by a pharmacist) sale. You can buy a larger supply over the counter in a pharmacy and your GP can prescribe you a bigger supply, but the max dose is still 8 in 24 hours.

I would suggest you pop into your local pharmacy and have a chat about what else you can get over the counter hun, or see your GP asap

hello hello everybody:) just got the boy to sleep after an hour of trying so I'm nipping downstairs to get ready for tomorrow now. Got a lady wot lunches coffee appointment with a london pal who is here tomorrow ......but its at 9AM! so I've got to have the whole day ready and packed up before I go. Also I've run out of interesting food for dinner tomorrow and my online shop isn't coming till tuesday, so I might have to get inventive....... DH called tonights dinner "one of a kind" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: he ate the lot though, as did the kids (a miracle). Personally I thought it was quite nice. I did my special chips (new potato slices oven baked with a bit of olive oil), but I didn't have enough so I cut up a couple of frozen croquettes as extra:D, leftover boiled bacon in a mustardy white sauce with broccoli, carrots, cabbage and half a courgette. Oh and a yorkshire pudding. :D:D

I'm in. Will do what I can when I am finished work ... that is if I still have a job by the end of tomorrow! Fingers crossed ... can't afford to be made redundant ... unless I'm given a massive redundancy payment that will pay off all my debts (highly doubtful)
