I am going to make some party food today for over christmas and put it in the freezer to get out when I need it....
I was thinking
HM Sausage rolls - I have sausage meat and puff pastry....... at what stage can I freeze it. Cooked or uncooked?
HM mini Pizza's - again at what stage can I freeze it.
Can anyone think of anything else that I canmake and keep for over the festive period..... I am trying to make things as stress free as possible for christmas.
Also if I buy frozen vol au vonts can I cook and freeze them?
Thanks

You can freeze vol-au-vents, same as sausage rolls, both cooked or uncooked.TL0

I've done these before for a buffet ...they went down great guns ...I made in advance,Froze them ,defrosted the night before and just heated up in the oven (in a dish covered with foil, I expect you could reheat in the microwave too) They're also great served with spaghetti and pasta sauce.
500g Lean minced beef
1 onion finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
1 chicken stock cube dissoved in 2 tbsp hot water
1 apple peeled,cored & grated
1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
generous pinch brown sugar
s&p to taste
flour for coating
veg oil for frying
Mix all in large bowl ( except flour & oil ) make into about 24 balls, coat with flour and just fry until cooked .
These actually taste quite nice cold too"Every time you feel yourself getting pulled into someone else's nonsense, tell yourself: Not my circus, not my monkeys." - Mark Borkowski.
