Ripper - when the old R&R policy was in place, there was a seperate thread to talk about the pro's and con's of the policy. Some people saw "doing" R&R/DTD as blatant exploitation of a goodwill policy; others thought it was fair game against a major retailer who monopolises Retail in this country. There are many thoughts on the matter. I would refer you to the Tesco Misprices discussion thread of old, to see that this debate has been done to death, so that the whole discussion does not go over and over again.

OK, to save this thread, if there's any more Spartacuses (or is it Spartacusi?) I've started a spinoff thread here:

Do people not have better things to do than to complain about products being mispriced and in some cases hunt around for mispriced products?

I do now R&R has gone DTD is not nearly as much fun. I'm actually going to have buy Xmas presents this year.

I always read this thread with interest and surprise about the amount of effort people put into trying to get something for nothing. People who buy 50 bottles of talcum powder because it goes through the till at 10p - what's the point. Some people will buy any old cxxp so long as it's cheap. this isn't moneysaving - it's greed - leave some for other people.

    Xmas Saver!
    ADVICE NEEDED please

just bought a Logitech MM50 ipod speaker SEL stated £49.88 charged £99.76 but offer finished yesterday got told NO to double the difference as the SEL was out of date , that was by the CS and the asst manager , did not accept that and left with the SEL so what should i do now??? thanx for lisening

I would keep pushing if I where you, however, my mind keeps ticking and I can't help thinking that if tesco let you leave with the SEL now, whats to say you couldn't have picked up the SEL when the offer was on, swapped it back a day after it ended and tried to get the DTD?? now take that both ways, it does give tesco an extra argument to no do the dtd, But they would be calling you a liar if they suggested this.

If you where of the not so honest pursuasion, then you could make a regular habit out of swiping SEL's and switching them back......again, just like other things I have suggested in previous posts, this is probably illegal, so I won't be doing this, but it is a nice thought.... could probably make a packet on some of the DVD offers, electrical goods etc......

But if it is " any old cxxp " why would anyone else want it ?
If no-one else wants it, how does someone buying 50 make it greedy ?

Those who do buy 50 bottles of talc for 10p, are actually doing everyone else a service.
The discerning who don't want to have 10p talc, will find their supermarket shelves filled with this years 'new' £2.99 talc, so they can keep bang up to date with the latest packaging and fragrance.
Tesco etc won't have their shelves cluttered up with old stock.
The environment won't be damaged by thousands of bottles of talc being thrown in the skip, and then eventually into land fill.
School fayres and church bazaars will have lots of brand new toilettries donated.
Christmas boxes will be filled with brand new products, rather than out of date, half used tatt which has been cluttering up the bathroom cabinet for 10 years

I'm sorry, was there a problem somewhere in all of this criticism ?
