Now, IF you made your purchase at a till that had the old wording, could you insist they went by the old policy, after all it was at that particular till that you made the transaction and therefore where the contract of sale was completed???
Yes you're correct, but wait for a 360/wii/ps3 moment, there's bound to be one shortly....."Life was easier when I didn't have a clue"0 -

I don't know the answer to that, but I've recently noticed the same in my local too. Boy how good the R&R days wereNow thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -

Thanks for the tip on this one, but unless I'm misreading this, you've worked it out wrong. You were charged £1.69 and got a DTD refund of £1.38, meaning the peas ended up costing you 31p.

In the queue today the lady in front bought a black and decker hammer drill, but then queried the price before she paid for it , the supervisor came back and said, yes, the price displayed is £19.99, not the £39.99 you have been charged, and proceeded to change the price to be paid.
So I had to go and have a look to see if she had taken down the SEL, sure enough she hadn't, a huge gondala end with HALF PRICE all over it.... The first one I picked up had a sticker over the bar code at the bottom, presumably giving the right price, so I picked up the one next to it, no sticker.
When I went to CS the very nice lady went off to check and came back with a big smile. thought I, but no, she was smiling because she could tell me that I had got it for free as they had overcharged me! Bless! What a lovely person!0 -

True Edindevon, - but not when they refund the £1.69 as well, despite my explaining it was too much. They gave item cost back to card, but cash DTD followed. I explained it twice - they brought 2 people in succession over and I was pretty much told to go as there was a queue behind me.
Again watched, heard CS in agonies, floored by basic maths on catchweight DTD - the meat in question weighed exactly 500gms and it was still beyond them.
Many CS particularly object to being shown the correct amount of refund, however pleasantly or honestly. They seem most suspicious when advised they have overpaid.

I did spot one at my local Tescos just after the change ,as the old style R+R mini thing was at C/S when I was overcharged I ponted this out and they obliged,a phonecall to Tesco Customer Services sometimes helps and especially if you mention that you know about what Trading Standards can do to stores that continually mis-priceTuck Fescos0
