Not the best DTD ever, but every little helps ;)

    Resident Evil 4 for PS2:

    Stickered £15
    Scanned £18
    so £6 DTD makes it £12 :T

Hey, I was wondering if someone could clear something up for me.
I went to tesco yesterday and brought ham reduced down to 20p a packet. They went through at 1.99 a packet bogof. I picked up 4 and got charged 3.98 for them. When i went up to the customer service desk i was given the refund of 3.98 and was told that because I was getting the product for 'free' I wouldnt get double the difference. Is this true? Would dtd only work on full priced goods? I left feeling a little confused!

  • Rubbish. Total Utter Rubbish.

You've been stitched up good an proper. They should have paid you to take them away. Help the CS staff read the policy on the board and then ask them where it says "because your're getting it free", etc. Then speak to a manager and complain to HO.

Danni - i to can confirm thats rubbish - i bought reduced item and it picked up the full price barcode, went to CS and she said "oh yes, you get double the difference" worked out to a few pennys gain. The thing that gets me is if they only follow the policy when it suits them, why do they bother having it. My time is valuable, standing in customer service queue for ages - the least they can do is give DTD.
  • I have noticed on some tills that the old R&R (get a full refund and keep the product) policy is still displayed. They are showing the new policy on the CS board and most tills, but some have the old sticker.

Now, IF you made your purchase at a till that had the old wording, could you insist they went by the old policy, after all it was at that particular till that you made the transaction and therefore where the contract of sale was completed???

I think I've got one for the Guinness Book of Records. Even by Tesco's p*sspoor standards of Pricing Integrity it's a shocker.

My local store still has a shelf-edger on the cooked meats section, advertising "20% off all Finest Food" - then in tiny lettering (less than 1 millimetre high): "Offer ends 18th April 2006".

I even wrote to the manager about it about 6 months ago, but it's still there. I've told the grumpy miserable witch on the CS desk 6 times since April 2006, but it's still there. I told her for a 7th time last week, but it was still there today.

Took a pic of it today to send to TS, will try and upload it soon.

I'm sure if you attempted a dtd using that SEL then it would soon get removed! That is so incompetent!

not sure if anyone would want it but in the newmarket tesco today they had 3 '3 para in afganistan' books marked up at £10 but scanned at £12. cs were quick to run and walk back with all of them no doubt to mark up but if anyone wants a cheaper pressie for xmas, good book at a good price (when dtd). worth looking in other stores.
A happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j

    Hello Everyone

I am fairly new to Tescoing, but had a bit of a go today.

First of all, I would like to thank whoever posted about the Stella Trivia Tin giftset (£10 item but in an £8 display tray). I bought one today and once pointed out, the CS removed the £8 trays to stop anyone else getting the same bargain, but then gave me £6 Dtd instead of £4. Great pressie for my brother so thanks loads : )
