I guess I must buy similar things each week - the prices just stay in my head somehow. UHT value skimmed milk jumped from 35p to 44p last week

    boo

Tesco's long lost R&R policy made me train my mind. I can remember about 90% of the prices of the items I put in my trolley.

Incidentally, all dairy products have gone through the roof - milk up by around 5p a pint, value cheese by about 40p a kg. This seems to be across the board and in all shops. I don't recall seeing a news article about diary prices rising... Maybe it's another cartell.

What really annoys me is the way that some prices go up. Flora spread 2 months ago was on a promo at (i think) £1.82 (down a few pence). It then shot up to a whopping £2.15 for a large tub. That's an astronomical price hike - that's around 16%. How the devil can this be justified.

I remeber seeing the toaster and kettle pack...when they first put it out a week ago it was 29.99 or £30...but then when I went in a few days ago they had been reduced to £19.99 or £20

So far only found the £30 sel, or no sel at all, so if you see a lower price, you might have a mis-price. If I can find a store with a working scanner, I will check and report back;)

Really small one if you can be bothered to queue for DtD...I couldn't!

Individual jam donuts, SEL 10p, charged 12p.

Maybe worth it if you buy a pile of these things and can scoff them all before they go stale!!

Also, be aware that many Value F&V lines are to 'disappear' if they haven't already e.g. tomatoes. Helpful info from an indignant older employee, who told me 'quality down, prices up, choice going'.
So, I looked carefully at the 99p Family Pack replacments and chose one that had 6 excellent large on-the-vine tomatoes and weighed 860gms. The variation was enormous for both quality, weight and number. Some packs had only 4 miserable, unripe, separate fruits. Many were mixed, as if using up odds and sods. Weights on 4 others varied between 440 - 710gms.

  • This is not really a proper misprice, as it is online but may be of interest.

At Tesco, bottles of Grolsch, Carlsberg Export and Carling Lager have all been half price, making the prices Grolsch 6x300ml £3.47, Carlsberg Export 6x300ml, £3.99, Carling Lager 4x300ml, £2.24.

From tomorrow, they are evidently going back up to full price and then going on BOGOF, effectively leaving them at the same price. However, at Tesco online they are all currently showing at half price and already have 'Buy 1 Get 1 FREE - valid from 26/09/2007 until 09/10/2007 - add 2 for offer' next to them. Therefore, you can clearly say that they are offering 12 bottles of Grolsch for £3.47.

This will be fixed by tomorrow morning and they will say they don't have to honour the displayed price, but maybe someone would like to take them on.

  • Tescos are currently selling most Disney DVDs at 15.00. During the past week though quite a few have had stickered prices ranging from 7.00 to 8.00 providing a reasonable return for waiting at CS.
One store even had some stickered as buy one get one free  - not a promotion I've seen in any other Tesco stores for a while. of course the full 15.00 was charged and then cheerfully refunded.

    Another one again today

Pampers Easy up pants, size 5 Jumbo box.

    SEL £6.67, charged £9.

Took a while and 3 trips to the shelf before the difference offered...

...and then doubled after a polite prompt.
