I picked up 2 boneless rolled shoulders of lamb SEL £4.xx but priced a £5.xx.
Took them to CS, showed them the shelf label, conference with head CS lady resulted in refund on one of them. I said "surely it should apply to both" and was told they only have to give difference, I pointed out policy but they weren't budging. I didn't have time to make a big fuss and wait for the manager (urgent appointment at the dentist).
Should I let the matter drop, after all, I did get one lot free or is is worth taking it further - if so, where is the next step.
Thanks.
Just get 1 of everything next time (shouldn't have to, should apply to any number you buy), or find a time when a different cs is on or try another store. You will find that if you say okay I'll see a manager half the time they don't bother coming and just authorise it.
I'm no expert on r&r, far better r&rers on here, I hope they haven't gone for good.0 -
Hi. If I get a dvd on r & r and they mark the receipt overcharge. Can i take it back to another store and exchange it for another dvd? thank you
I meant to say take it back without the receipt:A NI FEIDIR ACH LE DIA BREITHIUNAS A DHEANAMH ORM0 -
kronen wrote:Yes very good advice FloFlo, very embarresing the first time on refusal, let alone being sent back for further intimidation.
I nominate you to be the Mummy on this thread.
Now who can be the Daddy.
( Been watching to much of Noel! )
I phoned from outside the store, was told to go back in and get my refund. Went back in and a different duty manager phoned Dundee and said that I was wrong, I was very embarrassed. I went home kicked up a fuss with HO and emailed Terry Leahy's email. HO said definitely go back your refund is waiting, went back, was given refund by CS, duty manager would not face me. I won in the end. I also kept emailing Terry Leahy asking what had been done about my complaint concerning the agressive manner in which I was dealt with by the duty managers. It took awhile but I received an apology and an assurance the staff would be retrained (yeah, right), followed by a £20 gift voucher in the post.
I am currently retired though after making a show of myself over an xbox.:o
But I'll be back.0 -

I bought something from Tesco that was an out of date sel and offer did not come up. CS were very rude and told me i wasn't entitled to an R & R as the date was on the sel (i don't even know what day it is...!) After 5 mins negotiations amongst cs they did howveer agree to honour the offer (reluctantly).
I'm really angry at the way i've been treated like i'm an idiot for not looking at the date on every sel, have rang dundee and they basically said it's at the stores discretion, is there anything else i can do?
Thanks
ring dundee again and say you want to speak to supervisor or someone more senior .
I did and they agreed the policy was not at the store managers discretion .
If you complain that staff were rude( I have a few times) they just apologise for C/S behaviour ,I even got a letter of apology from dundee from a store incident. The next time I went in the store the C/S avoided me and gave me no furthar trouble0 -

hi
I always go by the following rule:
If it is a yellow SEL (i.e. a short term special offer) I buy several. The couple of times I have been questioned about it i have pointed out that "Tesco have put it on special offer and normally I would only buy one but seeing it at such a good price I bought several. If you do not want people buying more do not put it in special offer!".
If you, for example have pickeed up lamb chops where some are the correct new price and some are older stock at the previously higher price just say "I picked up the pack that looked like the best cuts of meat". The best cuts of meats happen to be the ones at the higher price.
If it is a White SEL i simply say that I assumed the discount would come off at the till in the same way a BOGOF comes off at the till
Hope this helps0 -
Touch wood I've never had to deal with HO yet, I hate talking on the phone. But then they can't see my face getting redder & redder.
Always best to lie low after big ones if you frequent the same stores. I haven't many options here & not much time.0 -
It's a little quiet on here. In case anybody doesn't already know, and so they don't miss out, there are plenty of new misprices and great discussion on the new forums @ http://misprices.forumup.net
All are welcome.
Cheers,

Thanks Abbiet,
I have just spoke to Dundee again and got a nice man who agreed i should have had my money back. He has given me a ref number and told me to go back in and speak to a manager, this is a bit daunting for me as i know i will go bright red...going to have to pluck up some serious courage!
