Recently I went into my local store, Simpsons Series 3:

    SEL £22.97
    Stickered £19.84
    Scanned: £22.97

    Full R&R.

    In another store:

    SEL £19.84
    No sticker
    Scanned: £19.84

So there was a different price. Next time I was in my local I tested it on the self-scanner and it was still £22.97. I never knew different stores had different prices.

Afternoon all First post so please go easy!

Went to Tesco on Saturday and they had a 3.38 each or 2 for 6.00 on Miller genuine draft beer pack of 4 bottles. The 2 for 6.00 did not go through and was charged 6.76. Went to CS to get a refund and she wanted to check the label. As i walked with her I asked (innocently!) if this happens often and asked if it was a central computer screw up. She advised that it was an instore screw up. The staff place the labels on the shelf, scan them and then upload to the local computers with the special offer price.

Does anyone else know if this is the process because if so surely it means that a screw up on a BOGOF or a 2 for 2 quid in one store will almost certainly not be a misprice elsewhere.

having read the misprice thread there seems to be a lot of people getting the same offers on a misprice which kind of flys in the face of what i was told.

Maybe one of the tesco employees that posts here can confirm.

This is, for example, i do not want to put 2 packs of pringles in my trolley on the say so of the misprice forum because someone got them in Glasgow only to find they are correct where i live and i cannot get an r & r.

Long post i know but passes a bit of time. Any comments greatly recieved.

I've never worked for Tesco but I bet I know more about the way pricing in supermarkets work than that cs. I think they were trying to sound knowledgeable, but there obviously not. Pricing including special offers, such as bogofs are controlled centrally and hosted to stores. Bogofs and 3 for 2s etc will usually be national offers so if it is wrong in one store it is usually wrong in all - the exception to this will be if a store has not received their hosting from HO. Stores may still have different prices though, this works by having stores in pricing bands.

I'm sure a more suitable Tesco person will come along with better info.
  • Ooops! Too late on Number.3:rotfl: ;)
You don't work at Copdock Interchange, Ipswich, do you? The bloke they've just been nicked for murdering those prostitutes is a team leader at either Copdock or the Kesgrave store.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Different stores will be in different pricing bands, when a worked for a different supermarket this could be based on size of store, style of store, area of store.

What is the status of an OOD sel

Dundee told me that it will not be covered under rnr as date is mentioned on there

    What r my options?

Keep on at them, trading standards are not interested in dates on sels, prices must be correct. Its their fault if they left it up. Phone back speak to someone else, ask to speak to a customer services manager, don't take no for an answer.

Agree completely with the first 2, not the third of course (we need the input and wit from Spa2k and Constantine, and sometimes posts from TE and cblizard are entertaining too...).
Anyway 'stressed', have you gone and popped your R&R cherry yet and got Open Season kids' annual with another annual for the '2 for £8' offer that hasn't worked since September? Make sure the offer is on SEL or sticker for both annuals and say nowt at the till. Nowt!

I told you about it on the previous thread when you asked for an easy R&R to start you off! Kept waiting to see if you'd managed it or if tesco have finally put it right...

Thanks for that ******. (I nearly said your name but then remembered rule 2) :rotfl:

Happy Christmas, and keep using those coupons.

mistakes also happen at the end of an offer when the store have not replaced the sel this is normally down to human error and would be on a store to store basis.
  • Finally found an incorrect SEL on the SE 810i at store near work :j

Spent all day yesterday scouring other stores for this without success and I'd pretty much given up as I thought they'd have noticed by now and taken the SELs down.

R&R without too much hassle, although one of the members of CS told the girl putting the refund through to 'just refund the difference'. I just calmly stated another CS member had already said it was an overcharge and full refund (true). The CS guy didn't say another word, just walked off and got the full refund! (obviously just trying it on)
