I hadn't looked for a misprice for a few weeks now, but funny I do always look for an overcharge on my receipt, especially reduced items being picked up on the wrong bar code.
Our 10 year old daughter, nearly 11,noticed that the elderly till operator put
The'you are what you eat'Slow cooker, priced at £17.48,twice through on the till.We also had other shopping that was ok.
I closely examined my reciept and was unsure whether customer services was going to give 2x£17.48.To my amazement she didn't even check our load
and gave £34.96 back and the product of course.
Damn I did pay by credit card though and my daughter had told me beforehand. How many data miner checks before they write to you.
This is my second on my Tesco Credit card
Wow we may have bought two and hidden the other one!
Oh, has anyone found the Tesco A4 Multipurpose printer paper for 0.73p(Exeter Vale 22/12)These are the blue packs bar coded 5 000358965629.Might be National.Or in a store near you soon.
Constantine has been given the bar code this morning and is on the case.0 -

Some stores do not r&r for items which have been scanned twice, they say that cashier error does not qualify for the refund policy.0 -
OK people I'm going to be slightly vague because I'm paranoid about who reads these threads.
Got an R&R yesterday for over a £100, the item had already been posted on the missprice thread a couple of weeks ago and I was surprised it still showed up. Anyway bought the item and went straight to CS.
Girl took about ten minutes then returned with the item and the sel. She then made me the great offer of allowing me to purchase the item at the (out of date) sel price. I immediatley pointed out that she was stood under a sign that stated their R&R policy. She then said "er Yes thats what I'm going to do. I've had a word with a manager and you will get a full refund". CS was reasonably busy so she obviously was told to just test the water before doing what the policy says she should do.
Finally she then went on about how I have no guarantee on the item and it cannot be returned. She then scrawled a couple of illegible words and a couple of lines through the bar code. Can anyone tell me what is the score with regards to a guarantee and also is my chance of exchanging the item completely gone because of the bar code scrawl.
Thanks in advance and happy new year to you all.0 -

Key point here is that the R+R policy states "Your statutory rights are not affected." So, whilst a refund under the 28-day policy ("Golden R+R") may not be on the cards (because it's not a statutory right), you are still covered if the item is faulty or not fit for purpose. And you still have a full guarantee. Can I help?0 -
Many thanks RD. That's exactly what I thought and this being the case I should be able to exchange the item without a receipt should I choose. They just seem to throw the statutory rights issue out of the window when an R&R is found. I appreciate that I've been very lucky to get an item for nothing but at the end of the day they have to follow their own guidelines/policy.0

Statutory rights apply to goods which are faulty, the exchange or refund of goods where you have changed your mind is down to the discretion of the retailer. Most people seem to have success exchanging without a receipt, I would suggest using a different store for exchange.0 -

at the store i was in yesterday, one poor guy was having major problems. From what i could gather, it was a tv and receiver bought for christmas which were faulty but the store refused to do anything as he didnt have a receipt.
the duty manager offered to use his clubcard details to see if he could find a record within the last 2 weeks but said otherwise couldnt do anythig as they could have been bought anywhere at anytime. i heard the poor guy say he ahd been there ober an hour and was intending to take it as far as he needed and would sue if necssary under the sale of goods act but the manager still wouldnt budge.0 -

I think youve misunderstood rd's answer.
If youve got no receipt(when you take it back)......youve got no Statutory Rights.........as youve got no date or proof of purchase.
You may find a store that is "willing" to exchange, but you can't demand this.Couponing....."every little hurts"
Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.
