P.S. Apologies for asking, but what's EPH? Can't search a short term like that so I'm in the dark.

PLEASE READ THIS… PLEASE READ THIS… PLEASE RAED THIS

I have this evening been made to feel like a criminal because of this forum.

I purchased an Xbox 360 from Tesco that had a sticker with the price on the shelf of £279.99 but was charged £299.99. I went to the customer service desk and told them I had been over charged, one of the first things I was as was asked was did I know of what I now assume is this site where people post mis-prices and then try and get them for free from Tesco.

They offered me the difference but I tried my luck and mentioned the sign behind the desk. Thinking they would tell me to get stuffed and that I could only have the difference back

While I stood and waited for managers to help me I could tell something was not right and it now makes sense to me, they thought I had previous knowledge about this scam and had gone there with the intention of getting it for free. When in fact I had been searching around for one in the New Years sales and found this one to be the cheapest price.

I had to provide Tesco with my driving licence to prove who I was and where I lived and I now feel that when I go back there (I shop there each week) I will be followed and known as the one that tried to scam Tesco out of £300.

One of the members of staff that came to help me had what looked to be a huge list of items that had been posted on this site and this Xbox was at the top of it.

Tesco has now gained my loyalty for this excellent level of customer service and I will ensure that continually shop there.

I assume that Tesco read these message boards and would like to thank them for honouring this gesture of good will despite what appears to be systematic abuse of it my a number of users of this website. If I were Tesco I would now scrap this policy and ensure that you were all banned from entering a Tesco again.

OK, they are a big multination business but that does not mean that what you are doing is right. Should I have been made to feel like I did this evening? It was human error, have none of you ever made a mistake?

Really don’t know what else to say, I am stunned that you feel this is right.

why did you give them your address don't moan at people here they help you listened you tried it and got it just be thankful you did are you now not going to use it because you feel like a criminal lmao.give it to a childrens home or charity and let them enjoy it. after all it was FREE. oh and by the way it was your own fault for showing them your address in the first place.

If they asked you if you knew the price was wrong before giving you a refund, would you say yes? Or, would you lie to somebody to benefit yourself and claim you did not know about this.

You don't know how much it is until it's scanned.

As for the rest of your post - blah blah blah blah blah - what a load of rubbish. If you are a genuine poster, and this really did happen to you, it would appear that a large part of the reason you have posted what you have done is to try and send a message to the store you got the XBox from, in the hope that they will read it and believe that you didn't deliberately go for the r&r. Well to ease your conscience take it back and ask for the difference.

    Run along now eh...

As I am new to this I didnt even think about using cash and I have just done my 2nd R+R using credit card (and clubcard) - bit stupid of me.

My receipt for today has 5 electrical items coming to 75 quid. The CS man did not write anything on the receipt so in theory I could take all 5 items back for a refund.

Would I be doing anything illegal by doing this? If I had paid cash (which I will do in future) I would not hessitate but I am very wary to go back for a refund on my credit card for something I have already been refunded for!

Should I just sell them on ebay and make sure I pay cash in the future?

    Cheers for any advice

The smart way would be to use cash and a temporary club card, the card in the application build it up and sell it or give it to your best friend

Well I wonder how Mr T using the information from this forum stacks up with:

There's one for sale on ebay, wouldn't give it to anyone you know if Tesco might flag it.:rotfl:
