But if Tesco's new attititude to refusing to honour their Price Promise policy, is to use the disclaimer of the sel being OOD and it becomes a nationwide/every store blanket get-out-clause, then I will report every OOD sel left on show to my TS officer. This excuse seems to be gaining momentum reading posts on here and Tesco appear happy to be using it.
Absolutely totally agree with you brindles. Where the hell does it mention on their policy that OOD price advertisments are excluded? NOWHERE and that is what I shall be saying in the face of any adversity.0 -
its kinda hypocritical when you can honour an out of date sel on one product (nana) but not on another(xbox)0

So, two stores today, and two bad R+R experiences. Both of these stores have been OK in the past. Something is up!
First was an XBOX 360+GAME (£20 off didn't happen, as offer had ran out). Lady on electronics desk said she needed to call a manager about it. After a long wait, stroppy woman appeared, looked at the SEL, then simply said "Well, it's ran out, so it will not work". Err... That big poster behind you states that if I am overcharged, then I can get it for free. Nope. Not happening. She refused to budge on it. Demanded a full refund of the whole lot (£315 ish). Lots of people in the queue were all with me to "win", but sadly was not to be. Majorly unhappy - wanted an extra Xmas pressie for myself :-(
Other shop noticed a kids Tonka bike, reduced to £35 from £50. Again SEL had expired, but there were BIG A4 posters, so Exp text was tiny in comparison. Also had a PSP game stickered incorrectly. CS lady was happy to R+R the PSP game, but as the bike offer had expired, she was authorised to offer it to me at the old price, as a gesture of goodwill. She was all nice and polite about it, even when I pressed her a bit on it, but no, she was only able to do the difference apparently.
So, memo's must be going around to CS desks and the management team about this, as these stores have been really good in the past, no hassles or anything. Looking at the other posts here, it seems that something is definitely happing in this area.Always after a bargain... :-)0 -
hi all,
Been lookin at the Xbox 360 posts, I dont quite understand what SEL is likely to be overcharged, should it be with the £20 offer off kicking in be 279.97 but scans at 299.97 for the overcharge?
If someone could clarify for me please i'd be most grateful, tempted to go on a rampage 2nite.
cheers.0 -

There was an offer where you buy an xbox 360 console + a game and you get £20 off.
As far as I'm aware it doesn't matter which console or game you go for.
As long as they are still advertising the offer and it doesn't kick in you can try for an R&R.0 -
Hi All
Paid my first ever visit to a Tesco Extra big cahuna store and was totally overwhelmed by it all (didn't help going the day after boxing day - too many people). My question is that my sweet little local Tesco has a scanning point so that I can check the prices at my leisure when plotting my next R&R - is there one of these in all storse? If so are they all in a similer place or does each store differ? Any help much appreciated

theyre all in diff places im afraid, there's a thread in the Shop but dont Drop board on this site about their locations, a word of warning - some ppl on here advise against using the scanners as if seen on CCTV it could constitute fraud.0 -
