  • I cant help feeling that these forums unintentionally often encourage people to shop at tescos, who in my humble opinion run the country more than the government does!

SO LETS GRAB THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A NEW YEARS RESOLUTION NOT TO SHOP AT TESCOS AND GIVE OTHER PEOPLE A CHANCE..

    HAPPY CHRISTMAS...PAUL XX

Can't see how these forums encourage people to shop at Tesco. Most of the Tesco posts are about taking advantage of Tesco through misprices, which I think is quite a good thing ;)

Used to be a Tesco regular, but haven't shopped there for ages since they started reducing the quality of their food.

Every empire will always fall, sooner or later it will happen to Tesco's.
  • yea but the problem is when you go to tescos for one of the bargains here if you are like me you end up buying other things as well!

R&R stops after the new year anyway doesn't it. Our local store seems to manage to put signs up blaming computers and sayin they will only refund the difference now anyway. I tend to shop at ASDA online mainly now.
One day I might be more organised...........

Nonsense thread. Most of the punters on here tend to get their stuff from Tesco for free! If ALL Tesco shoppers shopped at Tesco like the people in the misprices thread, Tesco would go bust in a matter of months. No, I'm not joking.

As it looks as though I've helped one person today............its time for moan

I realse that this may be controvertial(so whats new , I hear you say)

Ive posted something similar before and have taken "stick" for it.

I PM most newbies with regard to this, and if they have initial trouble replying to posts, I also tell them about the other button at the bottom of the page.

My topic concerns the use of the "thanks" button.

I realise that a lot of seasoned posters arent bothered at all about, whether they get "thanked" or not.....Well, I am............and so are some others, who I have spoken to.

This particular incident I wish to quote hapenned a couple of nights ago.

TKPeters, posted (post 811) saying he had been banned from a store , gave a full description, and asked for help.

As I had had a similar happenning, I decided to offer my help, as did MYUserNamesTaken, Osakan, ginjim, Constantine, frenchman, orainsear, and Hermann. The topic finally closed at post 867.

During this, after giving advice, I got a PM for TKP asking me to ammend one of my posts as he was changing his profile.......I did so, and offered him further advice within the PM.

Nearing the end of the discussion, I noticed he had thanked(in a post) another poster....but not one of the above, and not one who had "helped" him.

Being an awkward git, I decided to challenge him about this, asking him, if the answers he received tonight were helpful to him, and if they were, why hadnt he "thanked" one of the persons responsible for thanking him.

He replied that he had thanked them.

Thinking my system or my eyes were playing tricks on me, I scrolled back to find no thanks, bar the posted one mentioned.

I replied to his PM, explaining the use of the "thanks" button for help given in an individual post, and IMHO, one thakyou in a post (to someone who hadnt really contributed to his help) wasnt enough to show that the effort put in by those posters was appreciated.

I got a sarcastic reply saying...."OH..you mean the "thanks" button, thanks."

    and nothing else.

Well I certainly wont be giving him my time again.

I know this isnt what this forum is about, but its part of the overall scheme of things.........like getting feedback on ebay.

How would anyone know about trusting someone, if there wasn't a feedback system on ebay.........I feel the same way about the "thanks" count on here.

I'm proud of the ammount of thanks i get........it makes me want to answer questions.......but its not the be all and end all.........

Ive spoken to other experienced posters who feel similar to this.

The problem with me is....I say what I mean, and I mean what I say.

Please no trolls to reply.......with the same replies I got last time I broached this subject..............after all there are a great many forum members that have the request as their signature.......(which I see nothing wrong with).

Merry Christmas from this big "thanker"
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Just remember how much you hate Tescos, only buy the BOGOF's and then walk out the door.

Personally I can't stand Tesco's. I live in a small town with a population of around 10k, we have 3 Tesco Extra's within 15 miles. One of these you can drive to in 5 minutes.

And what does Tesco decide to do, build one on or doorstep. We even only have a five digit Telephone number and we share that with the town that's 5 minutes away.

You obviously have an issue with tesco as a company, that is entirely your choice and right as an individual....however the place to discuss it is in the ethcis thread located http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=274398

Alot of people on here have not said that they hate Tesco, they have said that they dislike the poor service that is provided by less than well trained employees.

If you actually compare the amount of items given away free to the amount paid for you will find that less than 1% of goods are given away free. Hardly enough to send a company bankrupt...no, i'm not joking.

If the thread is such nonsense, why add to it?
