  • Hmm...what time to go to Tesco today. I want to get there in time for their major reductions, but also want to get there before everything sells out. My local seems to have misjudged their stock order levels, as they keep running out of things. Might have to go further afield for my reductions - best day of the year, this, as all supermarkets have to clear out their fresh stuff and stuff that goes out of date over the next two days. :D I have a large freezer. Might pop to the local Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury's too.

NYE is a jolly good day as well. Got about a weeks worth of food for a quid last year.

as well as enough bread to feed the pigeons in trafalgar square.

Oh, wait, Ken got rid of them.

  • I'm hoping any of you experts can help me.

I went into a store this morning and saw the label for the W810i mobile phone(£169.xx or £147.xx when you spend £40 or more in store).

Luckily they had it in stock so I bought one, and as I had spent £40 in store, I got charged £149.xx instead of £147.xx.

Went to CS, the lady said that she would refund me the difference. Pointed out the policy on the wall behind her, and she told me "You're not going to get the phone for free!". She said I could speak to a manager but had to wait about 15 minutes as he was in a meeting.

He finally came, and told me the same thing, that I would only get the difference as there were signs all over the store saying £20 off, so the label was a misprint.

Is there any way I can get an R&R on this, or is it just a case of 'you win some, you lose some'?

you should get it. It doesn't matter whether there was one misprint amongst an ocean of correct ones - an overcharge is an overcharge. If the store has misled the customer, they should R&R.

Contact HO and Trading standards, though you may need proof.

I took the yellow label which 'accidently' fell into my trolley from the CS desk, is that good enough?

Christ, I just spent £70 in Tesco. Didn't mean to - it just happened. My local was unbelieveable. Tesco staff everywhere reducing everything, taking down decorations, pulling off SELs, barkers, etc...and the crowds! Don't even get me started on the amount of people who were in my local Tesco...I've never seen it so packed. The shelves were emptying faster than staff could get stuff out.

No bread left in my local, either...the meat shelves were completely empty.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Does anyone have a list of Tescos that could be loaded in Google Earth?

This is a definate RandR.......there are lots of people will testify to this.

You have met up with a team, that are just being awkward....because they wish to be.

If its the actual store manager youve seen, you could reapproach him, tell him youve spoken to TS, and it is a definate overcharge.

If this gets you no where, tell him you have then been advised to go to HO.

Ring HO, tell them your story and they should see it as a clear overcharge.

If they dont, ring back a couple of times, until you feel you have someone "in your corner"

This is normal practice, as HO seem to have differing opinons.

If this doesnt work...a letter/email to Sir Terry might be needed.

ALL this of course makes you known and raises your profile, but in this instance I would take it all the way.

Be careful how you use the POS you have....as that could be stealing....better to take a photo of it, to use "in evidence"
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.
"I'll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours, "I said that............................ Bob Dylan 1963
  • letsgobilliejoe, and leadhead, thankyou very much for your advice. As I had already already asked the manager for his name and HO's number(he was quite happy to give it to me), I don't think there's much point in going back to the store to try and reason with him.

Therefore, I will ring HO, and see what they say. (I will take a photo of the POS if required)

Great idea. Belongs to Martin now you posted it on here ;)

I'm afraid an idea cannot be copyrighted or patented. You can write about an idea and the written work would be copyrighted but not the idea itself. You can patent an invention but not an idea.

However as this site "asserts copyright on all comments posted on the board" then copyright belongs to the site (as Constantine points out). By posting you have waived your right to copyright.

This does raise the question whether Tesco are breaking copyright by copying, pasting or printing the contents of the misprice board. If they are reproducing the contents of the board then they are breaching the copyright of the site but I doubt Martins bank account would permit him to pursue the case!!

Its amazing isnt it, imagine what it would be like if there really was a national emergency rather than a couple of days public holiday :rotfl:

Popped into one of my locals and they had already done reductions and shelves were bare:mad: However my other local hadn't started yet and there was tons of meat at 1/2 price - picked up a load or turkeys, pork, sausages etc and after coupons I paid peanuts:T
Freezer now full and it's going to be a very merry xmas thanks to R&R and coupons. This thread and the misprice and coupons threads have opened my eyes to new world and I would like to wish you all a great xmas.
