Always best to download from a trusted source otherwise you don't know what you are downloading and could just be downloading more nasties again! Looks like you got a safe source though :). The link I gave was for the producers of Malwarebytes site, not a third party site that you listed. But Hey at least your scan is clear :)

OK am getting confused with all these links lol. Is hijakthis the same as malwarebytes? I am currently doing a full malwarebytes scan from the site I posted I found it on http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail...e/1186760019/1

malwarebyte.com was listed at the top of the quick scan and was the same version as mentioned on here so I thought it was ok. Nortons cleared it too as good.

No, HijackThis and Malwarebytes are 2 different programmes, Get HijackThis from Closed's link above. I'll butt out and leave closed to talk you through it, sorry if I caused any confusion.

No, somersethillbilly, thank you for yours and closed help. I was just confused as to how I could perform a scan using malwarebytes and then post it using hijackthis. So should I be using hijackthis and not malwarebytes to scan and post log?

    post a hijackthis log.

    then

do a full scan with malwarebytes, and let it fix anything found before closing

the hijackthis log is so we can see if anything untoward is still on there, the malwarebytes scan is to clean up any infections it knows about
